besides my left shoulder making noise when doing a cross punch, what really frustrates me is alot of my cardio kicks workouts or anything else with kickbox, i get a horible headach during punches and kicks.then i have to stop.weird
PLEASE help because i love this workout when i can complete the whole thing!:(

i know this is a difficult ? so i understand if i get no response.
i think the problem might be more serios than exersising.

There was a thread on the open discussion board about getting migraines while exercising. I will copy the link in this message but if for some reason it doesn't work (I am computer challenged at times) it is 3 pages back in the open discussion forum. Here it goes...

As far as the shoulder pain goes, the only advice I could give would be to make sure that you are not locking your arms when driving the punch. Also, it may help to visualize a stopping point and only driving your punch to that point. Could you be driving it too far and disrupting your shoulder joint? Certainly, if there is pain or this gets worse, I would have it checked out by a physician.

from what i have read from that web page, cathe's warmup from cardio kicks and circuit max, ctx, mostly, are too short and/or strenuous then jump into high impact cardio. also, pay attention to what u eat before the workout. someone also suggested that i buy a heart rate monitor.

I'm not sure about the shoulder, but make sure you keep your shoulder down while punching and twist the upper body from the hips so that the power of the cross punch comes from the legs, through the hips, then into the arm. See if this helps.

As for the headaches, tension might be a culprit. Are you hunching your shoulders at all? Relax (it sounds like a paradox, but it is possible to relax and punch at the same time). Are you holding your breath? Breath out forcefully with each kick and punch.

In your later post, you mention short warm-ups. Actually, CK has a longer warm-up than other workouts. If you still feel you need more, you could always do about 5 minutes of any kind of large-limb rythmic movements.

hi!
ALL of your suggestions have helped me-especialy breathing more. i only do 50% instead of 100%. it probably does not matter much sense your still going at the same fast pace.
thanks a bunch!
