Kettleworx

Hi Melissa!

I love kettlebell workouts so naturally I was intrigued by this program. Aren't we always looking for the next new thing!? :p :D

I never heard of Kettleworx until I saw your post. I checked out the website and it didn't take me long to decide that this is probably not a very good kettlebell workout. The biggest red flag for me -- nowhere on the website does it mention Ryan Shanahan's qualifications, so I sincerely doubt he holds RKC certification. The website refers to the Kettleworx program as the "global leader" in kettlebell fitness. I think Pavel Tsatsouline might have a different opinion about that. ;) http://www.dragondoor.com/pavel_bio.html

If your mom wants to try kettlebells I would recommend the following workouts, both of which include a good tutorial, are great for beginners, and the instructors are certified:

1. The Kettlebell Way with Anthony DiLuglio and Beth Chamberlin
Here's a preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CApy7Ykz5P8

2. The Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells by Lauren Brooks. http://www.ontheedgefitness.com/Videos/UltimateBodySculptandConditioning.aspx

HTH, and best wishes to your mom!!

ETA that I don't know how old your mom is, but I'm 55 and I don't have any trouble with either of the workouts I mentioned above.

I second that opinion. If they don't state they are a RKC Certified, they aren't so I wouldn't get it if they aren't. I'd go with the recommendations of the two mentioned above and another is Enter the Kettlebell by Pavel Tsatsouline he is the true innovator that brought the kettlebell to the US. This dvd is available at amazon.com check it out http://www.amazon.com/Kettlebell-St...ef=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1278909100&sr=8-1 those three are great kettlebell workouts taught by RKC certified trainers all taught with correct form which is imparative. I hope she enjoys kettlebells they are fun and very time efficient workouts. Good luck to your mom.;)

Hugs!

AOS!

Hi,

I just did my first AOS workout tonight. Vintage Providence as a download. It was really good! I'm waiting for the DVDs to arrive. ( AOS KB clinic and Providence, Newport and Firepower )

I also just got Lauren Brooks' 2 DVDs. Tried her first one and liked it too. Both Lauren and Anthony recommend heavier KB than the stuff I've seen out there ( shopping channel ? )

Don't get me wrong, I did not jump into the hard moves with AOS. If it looks too hard, I did a swing or squats. I just wanted to see why AOS was getting such rave reviews.

:)
