Kettlebells - Contoured vs. Ball-shaped

I have just recently started doing some kettlebell workouts. The one I did this morning, Brook Benton Cardio Kettlebell, she used a contoured kettlebell, and I wondered if anyone found those more comfortable when in the rack position to hold. I made it through okay using the 10 lb. ball-shaped kettlebell I bought, but I am considering getting a 10 lb. contoured one.

I have both types of kettlebells and I like the contoured bells better. I have Bob Harper's contour kettlebell and it is so much easier for me to use for lunges, halos, turkish get ups and others. It doesn't slam into my forearm and bruise it like the round bells have a tendency to do. One of these days I would like to replace all of my other kettlebells with Bob's.

I have two, 10 and 20 pound ones. Both are the Bob Harper retail ones from Target. I LOVE them. I can't imagine even using the ball shaped ones after being spoiled by first using the contoured ones. :)

I wish I had tried a few workouts with the ball-shaped one before investing in several more the same style. I did go ahead and order a 10 lb contoured one that comes with a Bob Harper DVD, so at least I am getting more than just the kettlebell. If I find I do like it a lot more, I guess I can sell my ball-shaped ones on Craigslist. I should have kept my packaging so I could return them to Amazon.
