Today is week 6 of ETK! C&Ps/pullups and the snatch. It was a good workout and Mondays are titled "light day" and I have to say thats right.:) Mondays are fun.
I used the 25#kb for the c&ps and 30# for the snatch.

Marcy~ How did you like day one of ROP? not bad, right? How were the pullups?

Gayle~ wow! love the motivation to do 50 swings between each cleaning up phase!! No way would I be that motivated!!:)Great job with the TGUs and Grace. Yes, it is hard to concentrate for the TGU's , but with 35# over my head, I don't want to break that concentration!!LOL

Jane~ sounds like you are enjoying the nice weather! I hope we have seen the last of winter!! What's on your agenda today?

Hi Everyone!

I have to pick my sister up at the airport this afternoon, so I'm hoping to get in some swings at least. The time change makes it nice so I can workout later in the yard if I need to.

I did 300 swings this morning and a segment of Classical Stretch.

My hands hurt after exercising. Do you ladies use gloves?

Good Afternoon!

Today was week 5, Day 1 of ROP. I did my 3 ladders of Clean & Press with Pullups and Snatches. I did the Joint Mobility warmup from Lauren Brooks DVD. I used 25# for the Clean & Press. Here were my pullups:

Ladder 1: 1; 1&3/4; 2&3/4
Ladder 2: 1; 1&3/4; 1, 3/4 and 1/2
Ladder 3: 1; 1&3/4-1; 1, 3/4-1 and 3/4

I used 25# for the snatches (first time). I did 2 sets of snatches (10 each side). First set I used 25# - 5 reps good, 2nd 5 reps had assistance from other arm. Second set I went down to 20#. Felt pretty easy - wish I had a 22 or 23# bell.

For some reason, my right hip flexor was really hurting last night and I still woke up with it this morning so instead of doing cardio, I did Janis Safell's Dynamic Stretch. It helped a little bit but I've still been in pain all day today. I didn't even work out this weekend so I don't know what happened. I've been walking real funny all day.

Deanie - I had lunch with some other Catheites yesterday and we were talking about KBs. One of them said that the Clinic wasn't needed if you had all the rest. Great job on the 30# snatch! They felt so easy to start with and then I just fell apart.

Vilma - Glad to see you're getting your swings in. I'm glad you mentioned Lauren Brooks 12 min. cardio workout. I think I'll be working that in during ROP.

Andilynn - Great job with Newport!

Jane - Great "boot camp" workout! Very creative!

Gayle - I liked your "Spring Cleaning" workout!

Farmer - I use gloves most of the time because otherwise I get blisters. Occasionally I have to take them off for things like Figure 8 to a hold and tactical lunges where I'm passing the bell. I feel the gloves don't give me a good enough grip.

Hi everybody! Today will be a kettlebell Monday plus some pull-ups. Last nite I did High Intensity step from the 4DS and added the no equipment abs fron STS, another great ab workout! I just got back from school and another Algebra exam so I got my brain workout for today also!

Marcy- hope your hip flexor loosens up!

Farmer- I also use gloves quite often and it doe not seem to affect my grip at all, I still have a few callouses even with the gloves.

Deanie- we were lucky the tornado did pass us by but north of us they were not so lucky , one touchdown and 90mph windgusts, I love the warmer weather but really hate tornado season. I'm happy all my DVD's are in the basement, LOL!

Marcy - Do you use a foam roller at all? I use one for IT band issues, I would think it would help with hip flexors.

Deanie - I love that 30# snatches are on your "easy day". :p
