Kettlebell FRIDAY*****

Good Morning Ladies!

No workout yesterday. I went to the doctor yesterday ( thanks Marcy) and she gave me a prescrip for Singulair. My lungs were fine and she thinks it might have been the weather change or allergies.

Waves to all. Happy Friday.

Hi Everyone,

I'm taking a rest day today! Tomorrow I'm doing a 5K race in a Plantation where I will be running on a hilly course consisting of pea gravel, grass, dirt, red-clay and asphalt. I'm excited. It will be nice to run somewhere other than neighorhood streets.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!!

Hi All!

Went to the doc today and he said my lung function was perfect!:D Blood pressure dropped from 120/80 to 110/78. I guess everything I'm doing is working. He might even drop my dosage on the Advair (to a pediatric dose) but is waiting to see how I do during the winter months. Also got a flu shot today. Just in case you're interested, I asked him about the swine flu vaccine. He said get it if my office offers it (which is where I get my flu shot) but he's not as worried about it as much as the regular flu.

My workout today was Angie Miller's Strength & Core Fusion. First time doing it and I really liked it. All compound moves and lots of balance work which I love. Core work was good but not as challenging as I would have hoped. Burned 414 calories for 68 mins.:D

Farmer - You're welcome. I hope the Singular works for you.

Jane - Hope you have a great run tomorrow! Don't you just love the Georgia clay?:p

Deanie - How'd DS do at his game?

Waves to Gayle and Melissa!

Good Afternoon

Rhonda::: glad all is well with your lungs and I hope the Singular works

Jane::: Enjoy your rest day. Good luck with the race tomorrow!!!!!! Sounds challenging:) Let us know how you did!!!!!

Marcy::: glad your stats are all good!!! I'm thinking the core work in your workout wasn't so challenging for you because of all the yoga you've been doing!!:) I think yoga really works your core!

Gayle::: Hope you are having a good day!

Had a good workout today, not sure how I am going to continue. I have one more week left of SIM to complete 2 months, and I have Resolution, that I am doing with the heavier weight so I may combine the 2 for the next few weeks till month 2 is finished and then I will move into PTTP!!:) so I will either start in 2 weeks, or 3. I think I will follow Crossfit 603's plan, but I may just do swings or snatches for my cardio after lifting.....still working that out. and throwing in some rope work of course;)

anywhoo, here is my workout for today:

SIM
month 2 week 3 day 3

warm up:
DFD#2
swings
snatch/windmill/tgu
20#kb
2 rounds

SIM
1/2 snatch: 30#kb
bb get up sit up 35#: 3:mad: was shooting for 4.
total pushups: 67 + 4 explosive pushups on knees
15 seconds rest between exercises

added:
**pullups: 8
** swings with Bertha:
30 seconds on/ 30 seconds off:
7 minutes: 21 swings per 30 seconds

Marcy

Glad to hear that you got a clean bill of health. We've already had a case of swine flu at work and someone else may have it as well. Our company has a strict policy in regards to the flu. The guy that may have it came in to work even though he felt sick. His daughter had some kind of flu 2 days earlier. Our policy is if someone has the flu in your family, you're suppose to stay out of the office for 7 days.

I'd rather run on the red clay than dig in it!

Hi everyone!

Rhonda - Glad things are good with your lungs. I hope the Singulair helps.

Marcy - Glad your trip to the doc went well! Sounds like a good workout. :)

Jane - Have a great run tomorrow! I've already read the riot act to my staff about not coming to work sick. Fortunately, my employer is pretty generous with regard to sick time.

Deanie - TGIF is right! Nice workout today. :)

I'm kinda disappointed in my inability to stay consistent with PTTP. :( The fact that I've missed a lot of workouts lately is getting me down a little. I've never been good at following a program anyway, so I may just go back following WODs from CF 603 and the like.

I'm going to the gym tonight and plan to do 603's deadlift/burpee-hopefully-not-a-pukefest. :p

Have a great Friday!

Gayle:::: Don't feel bad about not being consistent with PTTP....now you know you aren't anal!!:p....we will refer to you as "hippie chick" from now on!;) and the deadlift/burpee combo is a puke fest, but in a good way!! ENJOY!!:):)

LOL! I'll have to get some Birkenstocks. :p

Thanks for all your helpful responses and welcomes to my KB questions from the other day.

I'm still debating on taking this on due to cost, but I'm going to keep reading and following your results to see if its something I want to invest in.

~Thanks again!
