Karie's 3 month committment

Kari,
Must be a kick box day. You did KPC and I did Kick Max. When I do kickboxing, I am not a thing of beauty. The moves don't come too naturally to me but I'm starting to improve. I do Kick Max once a week right now. I like the leg drill segment--it seems to be helping my form on the kick box drills. The blasts are killers and I usually have to take it down a notch to get through those.

What boards are you studying for?
~michelle

Kick Max is a killer! Those drills at the end make my legs feel like they are going to fall off. I'm studying for my physical therapy board exams. I hope to take it by the end of july. I need to start working and get some money! I've just talked to my husband and he wants to fish on monday for some snook so i think i'm going to do mondays workout tomorrow so i can take monday off instead.

Ok, since the hubby and I are going fishing tomorrow, i decided to do tomorrows workout today. After reading about how to make STS a fullbody workout in the STS forums, i decided i wanted to give it a try. So today I did M1W4 and did the first 1/3 of eac workout. Its roughly 9 exercises per disc. To do all 3 discs this way created a fullbody routine that was about 50 minutes long. I then tacked on 30 minutes of cardio at the end. I REALLY liked doing the workout this way. Because each disc was about 15 minutes in length, i really pushed hard with good form. The workout went by super fast. So on wednesday i will do the second 1/3 of each workout and on friday i will do the final 1/3 of the workouts with 30 minutes of cardio at the end. And then on my off days i will do just cardio (cardio coach or kickboxing) It seems like the possibilities are endless with creating a fullbody workout from the STS series.

Kari,
Sounds like a great workout today. I went to sleep super early last night and got 11 hours of sleep. I haven't done that in a long time. Decided to make today a rest day and then start the week off fresh tomorrow morning with HC Chest and Triceps.

Hope you and your DH enjoyed fishing today? Catch anything?
~michelle

hope your enjoying your rest day. my husband and i are going fishing tomorrow. i'll let you know how we do. right now i'm exhausted b/c i worked out 7 days straight this week. tomorrow is definately a rest day.

So I only caught 1 snook yesterday:( But i did catch a lot of sun (mabe a little too much) and i beat my husband as he didn't catch anything. So it was a bit slow due to the water temp being 78 degrees which is too cold for the snook to come and start spawning. It needs to be 10 degrees warmer at least so a couple more weeks before the fishing gets good. Today I did cardio coach vol 7 and almost died! For the second challenge my level 3 sprints ended up level 4's so i was pretty spent at the 50 minute mark of the workout. I decided to skip the 3rd challenge as i felt like the first 2 challenges pushed me to my max for 50 minutes. I then did the STS ab circuit workout. The one with no equipment required. Tomorrow I haven't decided if i'm going to do another full body workout with STS or just do the leg workout straight and then tag on 30 min of cardio. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Ok, so i decided to do M1W4 legs today and then follow it with 30 minutes on the elliptical. My legs feel like jelly but it was a great workout and i really pushed myself. Tomorrow willl be some type of cardio and abs. Today i upped my weight a bit for all of the exercises so i know i'm getting stronger.

Hi Kari,
MIA a few days. Monday was GSC&T which is always a great workout. It's Wednesday and I'm still feeling the DOMs from Monday. Yesterday, I was up at 3:30 am for an early morning meeting, so no workout. Hate when I miss a workout because of a change in my work schedule but it happens. This morning was a cardio day--did Step Blast. That is one tough workout--it kicks my butt, but in a good way.:)

Upping weight amounts always makes you feel good. Feels great doesn't it?

~michelle

Sounds like you had a great workout! I love the GS series. Cathe looks amazing in them. Wow! 3:30a.m. meeting; what do you do? that would be really tough. For a while i had to do my workouts at 4:30a.m. and it killed me but i stuck with it.

Ok, just finished CC #4 It was a great workout! I really pushed my max and at some points my HR reached 180bpm!!!!! I followed that with STS stability ball abs. I'm pooped now. Just had a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with spinach and sprouts (yummy) now its back to studying. Hope all is well.

decided to do all upper body today so i did half of the W4M1 chest, biceps and shoulders and half of the W4 back and triceps. It took about 45 minutes and then i did a 30 min elliptical session. Today i'm experimenting with upping my cals from 1500 to 1800. i've been really hungry lately and i think its b/c i'm not eating enough. we'll see

Wow! What a workout i had today. I had to get bloodwork done today so i had to delay my breakfast for 3 whole hours since it had to be fasted. So when my workout finally came around i was feeling still hungry even though i ate my breakfast a couple hours prior and i was just feeling off and tired. So i was going to just do a steady state cardio workout but decided what the heck, i'm going to run myself into the ground with cardio coach volume 8. I get into it after the warm-up and instantly had energy. Its great how working out does that. Challenge 2 is the worst on that volume! Its 2 8min level 3 challenges. I thought i was going to die. And then i really had to push myself to finish challenge 3. After the first 2 intervals in challenge 3 i was ready to just stop since my HR was getting up to 180bpm during the level 4 sprints!!!! But i finished the whole challenge and i'm so proud of how hard i pushed myself!!! I then did abs from low impact circuit. After that i was done. Since my breakfast was off today it has altered everything today and i just feel super hungry all day. Tomorrow is rest day and next week is my week recovery from meso 1. I'll do cardio and light weights monday thru wednesday then its off to the keys for the 4th and a much needed rest. Then next week i start meso 2.

Hi Kari,
Haven't checked in with you for a few days. Hope you haven't fallen off the exercise wagon but have just been too busy to post. I'm on vacation this week but I'm still managing to get in my exercise after a couple days of rest. Yesterday was Kick Max and today I did upper and lower body sculpt from the Basic Step/Body Fusion dvd and the gutts workout from B&G.

How's your studying going for your boards?
~Michelle

no, haven't fallen off the wagon but i'm not sticking with STS at all. I guess this could be my recovery week since i finished meso 1 last week. So far i have done 45 min cardio session on monday on my treadmill at a 12% incline and 4mph (monday) then on tuesday I did the upper body portion of the workout "the sqeeze stronger" and then followed that with 45 minutes on my elliptical. Today, i just couldn't do another lick of cardio so i did legs and glutes which totally kicked my a**. Tomorrow will just be a cardio workout; probably running and then i'm off to the keys. I'm bringing some workout stuff down with me but i'm not sure i'm going to workout. I'm brining KPC and the pyramid series with me. While i haven't fallen off the exercise wagon, i fell hard off the diet wagon last sunday. It was terrible. I'm finally feeling like myself again today. It takes sooooo long to rid myself of all the salt, sugar, and processed carbs. Where are you on vacation for the 4th? The board exams are going smoothly. I took a practice exam on monday and did fairly well. This boosted my confidence and made me realize that i'm retaining all this info. Hope you have a great weekend. I'll post again tomorrow.

back from the keys. haven't decided what workout i'm going to do yet. I've taken the past 5 days off so i'm kindof ready to do something though i have stayed active and have eaten well.
