Karen Voight Lean Legs and buns

Did my first NTSC compatible video tonight, Karen Voight's Lean Legs and Buns - I really enjoyed it and I felt it in my butt, too. I just wish Ms Voight would smile, is she always so unsmiley in her vids ? I also did a Kick box routine by Aerobics Oz Style, which was good - got an urge though to go for Cardio Kicks, as that looks so intense !

Voight is usually a little "stiff" in her earlier videos, especially at the beginning. She's much warmer in her more recent videos. She's as dynamic as a Stepford Wife in her Pure & Simple Stretch video, an oldie but goodie. Interestingly Voight's earlier videos were produced by her now ex-husband.

I have this and leant it to my brothers girlfriend I don't know why its good Karen is a great instructor but I just didn't really click with this tape.

I have critisms with it I just don't really get it. Cardio Kicks intense but good you will feel it in your glutes legs and arms try taking vitamin E helps with after workout soreness I believe I take it for my skin.

Hi Babs,

There is a lot of squats in it, I think I would of prefered more floor work, especially for the butt. Karen just seems so unemotional, and there is no praise ? Which seems odd !

I am going to hang fire before investing in her Firm Arms and Abs, as you have to angle the step, and at the moment I only have a homemade wooden step, which I have to say has served me well for the past 11 years ! I think it should go in a museum !
I am getting THE STEP for Christmas.

Did you have a look at the Fitness Forever site ? My Sister has told me she thinks it is quite expensive, so I was wondering if you could send me the address of your equipment supplier, please, Babs ?

Oh, by the way, my Postman has just delivered my Karen Voight Energy Sprint tape, I guess I know what I'll be doing tonight.
Wish me luck ! 80 minutes of workout - yikes !

I was a big Karen Voight fan until I found Cathe. Karen has some very good videos, Energy Sprint is good but it takes forever to get to the sprints. She does not convey the warmth that Cathe does. They both really pay attention to detail which I like. I outgrew Voight's workouts, they are good, intermediate workouts. I was rather discouraged when Voight had her breast enhancement surgery. To me it sent the message that it is not good enough to work out and be in great shape, you must be perfect. I am not against cosmetic surgery, in a few years I might consider some facial uplifts!
 
Hi Anna! Karen is a great instructor and her videos are very effective. I think after her Strong and Smooth Moves tapes she started to focus her efforts more on Pilates type videos and intermediate work.

I think her most advanced videos are the Power Packed workout, all floorwork, and it still challenges me ( and I can get through Cathe's tough Cardios just fine!), Great Weighted Workout ( a good total body toning video with light weights), and Energy Sprint. I have Firm Arms and Abs, too, and it is good.

I have been using all Cathe for about a year now ( she is in a class of her own!) but I do use Karen's Pilates and stetching tapes to round out my routines.

I just wanted to give you an overview in case you were going to spend more $$ on Karen's tapes.

Hi Anna,

You might want to try one of Karen's more recent workouts. Her screen personality has evolved into a much warmer one. I had her Lean Legs and Lean Arms videos, as well as Great Weighted Workout, Power Packed, and Energy Sprint videos. The only one that I bonded with was Energy Sprint. I like her later work better.

I hope that you don't give up on Karen, because I consider her to be in the same league as Cathe, and because her style is so completely different, her workouts would be a great addition to your routine.
