just my dang luck

we only had 3 days before we got rid of our van and got another car. the guy was willing to take our van and knock $300 off the car but the dang thing JUST died it won't start and the battery has a charge and so does the alternator so i don't know why it won't start but for $300 this guy isn't going to take it just to put time and money into it to not get anything back out of it. so now i am out unless i can manage something on craigslist. gotta be somebody that needs 96 ford windstar parts LOL.

so sucks!!! it was going to be part of the down payment but now i have to empty my savings to get the car. don't get me wrong i still have money for the car just not what i was expecting and we NEED the car obviously b/c i cannot afford to gas and maintain the van anymore. just UGH! it couldn't' wait 3 DAYS!!!

just my luck. well at least it was the new car LOL.

That sucks! But you know what ... it wouldn't have been good either if you'd sold the van then it died on the guy who bought it! It would have created bad will and he might have sued -- at the very least it wouldn't make for a good relationship going forward. I think you should still ask if he'll knock the $300 off the price of the car; maybe he was just going to use the van for parts anyway!

Yikes Kassia! Remind me never to buy anything from you LOL! Seriously, that stinks big time for you, but I do hope you are able to look at this from his perspective. What if you were getting sold an about-to-die lemon?

thanks gals actually stebby he said he would still take it for $100. his brother owns a mechanic shop and said its still good for parts. its way more then a junkyard would have given us. that was cool of him though and he will pick it up too. you are right though better then saying "yea it runs" then it breaks down and its all on his hands. i would rather have the $100 then nothing. i was going to get the car regardless but this is a good sign of making the right decision on getting the car even if that means cutting corners at christmas. its the best gift dh is going to get until next year LOL. hey i got my car on christmas so its only fair LOL.

the funny as heck thing was i came home and there was a recall notice in the mail from ford LOL.
