Hello everyone!

Just wanted all of you to know that I just got my
Maximum Results Turbo Jams TODAY(I just ordered them last Thursday!!!), so it is possible to get fast excellent customer service from BeachBody and all my DVD's are in perfect working order.

I just finished previewing(It was hard to stay on the couch and watch because it really is a party) Cardio party mix 3 and Fat Blaster and all I can say is WOW!!! I am very impressed with the intensity of the workouts and style of the workouts, and the music is totally incredible (the best music I have ever heard on a video workout). I really felt like I was in a live class with Chalene, incredible!! I love Chalene's personality and vibrance, I am speechless really! I LOVE IT!!!

Denise says 5 stars..Incredible!!!

I'm totally with you on the Maximum Results package. The first set was ok, but now that I have the MR package I rarely if ever do anything from the first set. I just like this one so much better. :)

I almost forgot to post that I was at Target yesterday and I seen some weighted hand gloves (they looked like weight lifting gloves), they looked very nice and I am thinking they were like $12.99 or 14.99 they were each 1 lb.

I got them for my DD this week and agree you can't sit still. Love the music :) I needed a break from my routine and this is great. Of course she will take them up with her at college.

Agree I like it alot and the background excercisers are great too :)

So far very happy

I have to add that I previewed the free workout that comes with the Turbo Jams, it is Yoga Booty Ballet: Live Cardio Cabaret Burlesque style. I remember reading somewhere that this workout was a joke, and was not worth keeping...I think the person said she threw it in the trash after watching it for a few minutes.

I have to say that I also previewed this workout as well(I was going to just sell it on ebay) and I have to say that I think it looks like a lot of fun, and I can't wait to try it out.
It is by no means a hardcore cardio workout, but it looks really fun and would be fun to do on a day you plan a lighter cardio and stretch/yoga workout. I would guess that it would be possible to burn as many calories doing this workout as you would get in a 30 minute brisk walk.

I never thought I would say this but.. after watching this DVD I went on the beachbody site and started looking at the YBB workouts. I think my next purchase from Beachbody will be the YBB workouts.

I have always been a super hardcore cardio person most of my life, and in the past year I have become very intersted in walking, Yoga, Qigong, Belly dancing..lol! If someone would have told me 2 years ago I would be doing these workouts, I would have told them they were totally crazy! I am trying to be more open and let myself try new things rather than sticking to the same old school as I always have.

Just thought I would put in my 2 cents.
:)

These sound so fun - I just went to Beachbody.com to check them out but I didn't see anything indicating that these were "Maximum Results" Turbo Jams. Am I blind or is there just one Turbo Jam to order on their site?

Thanks for any help!

edited to add: Oops, I just figured it out!!

Thanks!!

Denise,
I felt the same way when I got my first Turbo Jam set. I bought the original set at first. While previewing them I just had to get up and move. I love the music. They are just fun. Then I went on to order the rest of them so now I own all of them. I hear complaints about the strength ones but I think if you use heavy enough tubing and weights they are good. I like to use them as an add on or do a couple of them back to back. I bought my weighted gloves at Target. They are 1# and work fine. I asked around and heard the ones that they were giving out originally were 1.5#. I would worry a little about injuries. But then maybe it is my age. I use the one # but if I do more than one TJ workout I may not use them through the whole thing. I also used them on the low impact portion of Kick Max. I only had one negative experience with BB so far and most of the time everything arrived very quickly and my cards have always been charged correctly. I also recieved everything I ordered. Also I liked the Yoga Booty Ballet workout. I use it as a fun add on or on a Saturday which is usually a mostly fun play around workout day.

Diane,

I just have to say that you look incredible!! Your arms are so defined and your abs, it looks as if you have gained more definition than the last time I saw your pics, You are beautiful!

:)

I just got back from a walk with my friend who lives a few doors down, and she has the original Turbo Jams...lol! Great minds think alike I guess.

:)

Denise, thank you! I did diet pretty strictly around that time following phase 1 of the P90X plan minus the supplemental drinks and bars. I did add in some protein drinks. I am not good at breakfast. I really never went to phase 2 or 3 because that was not how I usually eat. Excellent recipes in their plan. I was just wanting to adhere to a plan to see if I could do it before I went to Cancun with DH for our 36th anniversary:) I think the TJ's work the abs quite a bit too. I love Ab Jam, although I do add the weighted gloves and shoe weights.

Glad to hear that you like it!. The Turbo Jam workouts are awesome. If you want to buy YBB workouts buy the YBB live workouts. These are the most fun. Each one has a fun/funky/silly dance routine, followed by toning. My favorites are Go-Go, Body Sculping Bollywood and Latin Flavour. The YBB Lives have easy choreo and are low impact.

Mariangeles,

Hey girl! How are you!

The thing that got me interested in the TJ's was your reviews that I read...Thank you!

I am very interested in the YBB live workouts, is the latin flavor one fun? I am so excited to find another way to workout and have fun doing it.

I am so glad to know you got interested in the TJ's for my reviews. Turbo Jam workouts are the workouts I look forward to doing daily. The Latin Flavor is great. There are lot of pas de bourree in this workout and Gilliam and Teigh don't teach how to do it. I have 5 of the lives (hip-hop abs, cardio cabaret burlesque, bollywood, light and easy and latin flavor) CC and hip-hop abs are my least favorites. Light & Easy is a great low-impact workout for a light day or beginners.Believe me it is light and easy¡¡¡.

Have a great day everyone.

Denise--

Just wanted to ask you...compared to the Cathe workouts, how hard are the TurboJams? I read your review and looked at the website and my only concern was that the workouts only seem to be 30 minutes long.

Do you really get a good workout with them? I 've been doing Cathe for years and just want to make sure these are challenging before i order them.
Thanks

I'm loving my Turbo Jams. I have all but the lives. I've been mixing the Gymstyles and these and it's a great combonation.

I like the Maximum results the best I think.

Hi

You get 5 in the initial
Learn and Burn - instructional
20 min work out = 25 min
Turbo sculpt (haven't done it yet 40 mins)
Ab jam (40 mins)
Cardio party - 45 mins

also got the maximum result set
Fat blaster (intervals) - 30 mins
3T (haven't done it
Punch, kick and jam - 50 mins
Cardio mix party 3 - 50 mins

I just got for my DD this week (I can use them until she goes back to school) -I will do cardio party 1 today

I have the YBB workouts. They are super easy compared to Cathe, but very fun. I just use the cardio portions, I already do enough strength and yoga work elsewhere. Each is only about 20 min, and I often tack them on to the end of my workout. It's like getting a little dancing in. I had a very bad cold a while back, and used these exclusively when I started exercising again. Didn't exactly want to start back with IMax 3, you know.

I wanted to add to this post..

Yesterday I took TJ's: 3T Totally Tubular Turbo workout DVD with me to work and did it on my break. First of all the tubing is way too easy, I was worried I was going to rip it..lol!!
The overall workout was 30 minutes, and I did not even break a little sweat. If the band was a super hard resistance band then the workout would be ok for something a bit different than Cathe. I only had my band so I don't know what it would be like with moderate to heavy weights.

:)

Haven't done 3T yet. I really liked the punch kick one yesterday. I got a really good work out.

Agree with you I think it will be good for cardio rather than weights.
I used my resistance band for the end of

I love those brazilian moves... feel it in my abs a lot. THe best thing is I'm out of my cardio rut!

I agree. The tubing that comes with the workout doesn't offer enough resistance for advanced exercisers. I've only done this workout as an add-on but to do it as a complete* body workout, I'd use heavier dumbells or tubing with a lot more resistance.

*Can't really consider this workout a complete body workout since there is virtually no chest work. The chest is used a little bit in the tricep pushups but that's it. Personally, I'd add in regular pushups to make this a more complete workout.

My .02.

Sue
