I have been looking for a nice but fairly inexpensive bar with plates as I am a college student who is also trying to save some money for a wedding. My fiance and I went to Dick's Sporting Goods today and I found a wonderful deal. It was a 100lb vinyl weight bar set that included a 14lb bar 2 20lb plates 2 8lb plates and 4 10lb plates. The plates are vinyl and the bar was aluminum but the whole set was only 29.99!! I thought this was an awesome deal because iron plates were .69 per lb so just the 20lb plates alone would cost almost 25.00!!
I just wanted to pass along this great deal if anyone is also looking to get a bar. I had been substituting holding hands weights at my side or placing them on my shoulders but it was really starting to bother my back.
I am super psyched and cannot wait to use them tomorrow!
