Hi Fab40! He complained of pulled muscles from "sleeping" wrong on his shoulder for years. He says it felt like the "muscle behind the shoulder blade" was sore. The complaints became more and more frequent. In june 2004, he was playing with our DD... lifting her above his body... when it began hurting and he thought he pulled a muscle. The shoulder and arm hurt. I FINALLY convinced him to go see our doctor (June 2004), who asked if he had tingling and numbness. DH says he didn't notice the tingling and numbness until it was mentioned. He then noticed a constant tingle especially if the arm was in the same position for a long period of time. The MRI confirmed the cervical spine was a mess. Physical therapy was not an option. He could try meds for pain control but eventually he would need the surgery. We finally decided on surgery in November. The neurosurgeon believes the injury occured when DH was hit by a semi... he dashed out in front of it in a parking lot.
I hope you find answers soon. If DH can answer any other question, please feel free to ask.
Take care!
