Hi ladies!! Workout today was itread 13 - 45 minutes. Tough one!
Thanks for the feedback on allowances. I think everyone should be responsible for chores, but I'm leaning towards not tying the allowance to the chores. They should do the chores, as Hottie said, 'cause they're part of the family and everyone helps out. DH doesn't agree about that. Beth, the recommendation I read was $1 per year of age per week. Yikes! I know, that would be like $160 per month for us. We can't do that. I think it's good that they have money to learn how to budget and to learn to save for stuff they want. Jameson yesterday went through all his books. He's got them all piled up on his bed - the keep and the sell pile. Well, of course he left them on the bed and had to sleep on the floor cause he didn't put them back on his shelf and put the sell ones in the box I gave him. I think I mentioned this, but we're going to have a kids' garage sale and let them sell their stuff. I'm hoping the lure of cash will entice Ian to sell a good portion of his 200+ stuffed animals.
Hottie, I know, men can be so exasperating sometimes!!! Make you want to throttle them! DH and I go through ups and downs. He works nights, so thinks he's got it the hardest. I also work, but come home and take care of everything, so my day doesn't end till 10:00 at the earliest. On weekends, I do all the kid-related maintenance type stuff, cleaning, cooking, nagging to do what they're supposed to, interference so they don't kill each other, etc., etc. He can sit on the computer or stare at the TV totally oblivious to all that is going on around him. Drives me insane, so I get it, unfortunately!!
Oh, speaking of kids and throttling, I had a lovely experience with Ian and Colin in Target yesterday. NOT! Ian needed new swimming trunks, and Colin wanted to come with to pick out stuff he wants for his birthday. So, we're walking along the aisle and Ian keeps picking on Colin just to be annoying. Grabs him by the neck, Colin kicks Ian right on the shin that just healed from that horrible scrape he got a few weeks ago. Blood starts pouring down his leg. Ugh!! Colin is crying cause I'm not yelling at Ian for annoying Colin and Ian's denying any involvement in the whole thing except getting kicked for "no reason". I drag them over to the bandaid aisle and pick up a box and give Ian a bandaid to put on his leg. He insists we're stealing the bandaid and doesn't want to use it. I told him it was fine I was buying the box - we could use one out of it first. I guess I at least am raising them with some ethics!

He finally puts the thing on. They still continue to bicker and fight. I left them in the toy aisle and got some other things I needed. Ian knew enough not to ask for the slushee I had promised him on the way out before things went haywire!
Chris, yum, strawberry picking!! Making anything good with your pickings? I know how hard it is to get kids moving!
Beth, glad you handled your discombulated workout so well!

That STS full body sounds good, but a bit too much thinking early in the morning for me! I may at some point try Cathe's rotation with different STS workouts mixed in with other workouts. Was it June's? Seems like everyday I'm posting a different rotation I want to do!
Gotta run...
