Jumping, turns okay during Pregnancy?

Hi all -

just hit Week 13 and have been able to continue working out - with modifications.

I was just reading in one of my pg books that jumping/jarring excercises should be avoided, and also quick turns.

I did Power Max (well, most of it) this morning on my step (no risers) and it has a good amount of jumping up to the board, along with a couple turn steps. Is this stuff okay or should I modify?

Thanks!

I did powermax during my recent pregnancy with 2 risers. I kept in the jumps but not as high. I listened to my body and was fine. Listen to your body. You will know if you can do the turns and the jumps. Post over at the moms to be check ins, they need new moms to be to replace all the moms giving birth in may and June!

Hey shopper, you better still stop by there, I will be so sad without you Heather, Morris and Mary, don't leave me behind!!!!!!!!

As far as jumps, I jumped til I was 5 months where I just couldn't anymore and you can definitly keep your risers on. I went down to 6 inches cuz 8 started to take my breath away at that time. Try not to read to much, every book will tell you not to do or eat anything. We all had healthy pregnancies and babies working out by listening to our bodies and eating things some women would turn their nose up to. I still eat feta in my salads and I have deli meat. I ate sushi quite a bit in the beginning with both pregs. when I was unaware I was preg. but of course stopped once I found out although I'll still eat the cooked stuff. A glass of red wine. and a diet coke:D My FIL is an OB/GYN and he tells it straight up and hates how books scare people from everything and make them treat pregnancy like a disease instead of a physiological change to the body. Just a lil advice to help relax. But of course, do what you're comfortable with ;-) ;-)
