Good morning ladies...

Well, it looks nice here so far...Getting ready to get on the elliptical for 60min. I am subbing it for the interval run. It is just easier to do that today for me..I have a busy day. I need to get to the grocery store, the kids want to go swimming and then we have tickets for an event at the library..

Chris, you do not..... at least you don't have to drink that yucky stuff, as you say! I'm glad to hear you get out of breath, and though we did hike hills, I even got tired on the flat! I don't know what the deal was! Maybe it is something about a kid's pace. I feel like I need to add some walking to my workouts.

I did Squeeze Stronger this morning -- thought about you, Vilma! How often are you going to try to do it? Did you see that discussion on vf about its effectiveness? It fries you when you do it, but no doms the next day, so is that effective? People said you don't need doms for a workout to be effective.

Hottie, you wondered how Gina doesn't eat our chickens. She does love to chase them (she's a border collie afterall), but she grabbed one once, Larry made it very clear to her that it was a bad thing to do, and she's never done it again. We think maybe one of them wacked her as well -- they can be pretty mean -- whatever -- they seem to live in harmony. Unfortunately we had a bobcat get too close yesterday and got the rooster and two of the "babies" (who are more like teenagers at this point). I think we are going to try to get some replacements (though we can live without the rooster! :p). The circle of life, I guess...... we do love the eggs!!

When does Joanne get back? Not for a while, I guess. Seems like it's been forever that she's been gone, but that's 'cause I was gone, I'm sure.

Kathy: An hour on the elliptical! That sounds hard!! Hope your day goes nice, it sounds very busy!!

Beth: Yep, no yucky stuff to drink. My stomach started hurting a bit this morning from not eating, but it got over it now. I think I'll be ok. Yeah, I'm always embarassed when i tucker out on walking/stairs, etc too!!... Oh no about your rooster!! You sound so calm about it. Was it gory? You don't get so attached to poultry? What did the boys think?... My next "to get" workouts are going to be the Squeeze ones. I asked Vilma yestserday, but which one do YOU think is better to get first?

Going to go do some stretching. I think I'll do 2 segments of stretchmax that I have DVR'd, IF the boys give up the TV. Right now they are quiet and I wouldn't want to mess with that. Greg brought home a Hotwheel Motorcycle for Jake (he mentioned he wanted it) and the other 2 (who are 9 and 13!!) act like he got a brand new shiny bicycle and they didn't get one! They've all been fighting over that ONE Hotwheels all morning!!! :confused:

Getting ready to head to the pool..I got my elliptical done this morning and I was pouring sweat off every part of my body!!

Chris: When is your procedure? Isn't it funny what they fight over? Hope they give up the tv for you..
 
Howdy all!

so, I'm checking in with IM2 today plus the AB burner from CLX. I was going to do another cardio today but our morning schedule got a little messed up and -- I'm being deadly serious now -- I grabbed the wrong bra...in that, I have a special bra I wear for Imaxes. It's really freaking cute and purple and provides really nice support without looking like its bolting my boobs down (I have two of those too). Anyway, after dropping Joe off at the train station, i came back to lift up my shirt and see the Imax bra on so I said, ok, IM2. My HR did not get up as high as it used to which I'm trying to say is because everything is getting easier for me so graduating to IM3 is a good thing. My left foot was bugging me a little bit so I tried to go easy on it too (though its a bit hard to do that on straddle taps). Anyway, awesome workout, I have my Cathe vest on right now at work and I'm even considering going to the school gym to do a video-less PC2 (but after I get some food in me!). Mr. Scale is being mean but Mr. Measuring tape is being nice so I'm chucking one for the other -- yeah, whatever, the instant Mr. Scale is nice to me I go back to it like an abusive relationship.

Kathy -- I think I'm going to be doing elliptical too tomorrow. The pool sounds EXCELLENT -- it's up in the 90s here today.

Beth -- if you could see my mouth as I read about fresh eggs. Oh, now you give me slight hope that one day in a bigger yard and less restrictive city codes I could have chickens too (yeah, there's no way the city of pasadena is going to let me have chickens and a rooster). I still would fear about the greyhound part of Evee. She just likes to chase anything small with legs. It's bred into her again. I don't think you *need* doms to be effective -- lalo is the freeze technique right? which one is the squeeze one?

Chris -- blech, colonoscopy pre day. I still shudder when I think about mine though they didn't give any type of anesthetic to me so ::shudder::. There was a fear that I had to go back there when my stomach exploded a couple weeks ago but yeah, i've avoided that trip. Oh that's so funny about your boys though! But I remember my mom would give gifts to all the children at our (very few) bday parties so that kids wouldn't be jealous of the one other kid...I still think it was mostly for our cousins but it seemed to work (though I strongly disagree with the idea!).

Hello Gals!

For some reason when I logged in yesterday morning I didn't see our check in so I went along my way - actually my sister caught me on the phone for over an hour lol

I had a lab appt this morning and then some running around; came home and crashed until now :p I had to fast for the lab work and found out my insurance does not cover the CA-125 blood test so I'm paying out of pocket for that one. I had to request for that blood test. I have no idea why they don't pay for that one but pay for the pap :confused: Call me paranoid but w/ my dad dying of cancer, my two sisters having breast cancer which was found in the early stages and my past hospitalization when my IUD caused an ovary infection - well yeah I'm paranoid lol

About Squeeze Stronger I am doing a rotation of 2-3 Sqs per week along with 3 cardio days. This week was 2 Sqs days so day 6 was a nice yoga tape that I have from Yoga Zone.

Beth After the 1st time of doing SqS last week from months of not using that dvd; I had total body Doms for 2 days after. When I did SqS on Sunday I just felt the ouchies for a few hours and stretched for quite a while on my own.

I only have the Squeeze Stronger workout. It's a nice dvd as you can break it up into Upper or Lower body, the entire workout which is what I'm doing or mix and match. I really don't know about the other ones at all. I'm happy with my version and when you concentrate on the muscles being used I get that tight burning deep in that muscle.

DH & I are very slowly dipping our toes twoards the vegan way and he wants to go to the health food store to see what we can find.

Hi Again!...

I'm somehow getting through the afternoon. I'm getting hungry!! But because I KNOW I can't eat , I can resist anything. I didn't even lick the Peanut Butter knife (boys' lunch)!!! why can't i have that kind of discipline on the weekends???

I did a Yoga workout from the new Kathy Smith Yoga Sculpt DVD I got. It was the "Intermediate" workout, which was pretty cool! Good stretches, a few balancing moves (I suck at those) and good breathing/relaxation at the end. Oh, they also did a full back bend! I ended up staying in Bridge Pose, but I USED to be able to do those, when I was , like 13! :eek: I definitely need more flexibility,and I really should do yoga more....

Kathy: great job on the elliptical workout! Do you listen to music or TV while you do it? Machines bore the bajeesus out of me! ... My procedure is tomorrow at 12:15pm, or that's when I need to be there. I'm getting a little nervous about it too. *sigh*.

Hottie: Woo hoo on IM2 and a good bra on!!! You made me LOL at lifting your shirt and doing IM2 cuz you had THE IM2 bra ON!!!!.... I bet conquering IM3 has made IM2 easier. Funny, I've never even met Mr. Tape Measure. Not sure why, but I just never measured myself. :rolleyes: I usually just have battles with Mr. Scale... WHAT??? :eek: You had a colonoscopy WITHOUT anesthesia??? Get OUT! *shudder* thinking about that! I do like my drugs, but at the same time am afraid of them. I don't like taking medications or drugs unless they make me feel better if I don't feel good. ... HEY! Wait! Where does that code work for those workouts?? Do tell!!!

Vilma: Thanks for the feedback on Squeeze Stronger. That sounds like the one that I'd want. For both upper and lower bodies. ... I dont' blame you for having the CA-125 done with all that history! Stupid insurance companies for not paying for it! Hope you get good results...when will you find out? .... What is Vegan? I forget. I'm not much of a meat eater myself. Actually not much of a RED meat eater at all. I like chicken and when I can have it, fish , only.

Wondering what I can put in my mouth/stomach now. Maybe some more yummy delicious bouillion and green jello?!?!
 
Hottie, too funny about your abusive relationships and your method of picking out workouts!!!

Chris, definitely go for Stronger -- it is 1 hr. 20 min. when you do the whole thing, but you can break it into about 40 and 40 upper/lower. The original Squeeze is more of a barre workout so you might be disappointed, and the Lower Body Challenge is just a 30 min. lower body workout that's a combo of traditional and barre-type work. Hottie, Squeeze Stronger (what I described here) is a lighter-weight, higher-rep workout that pretty well fries you. It's fast, Lalo is slow (except it does have more of a heart rate raising effect than SS -- funny, that). And, it's funny how both fast and slow work you!

Took a nice walk with Larry earlier. Back from piano lessons. Babysitter is due any moment and I'm off to work finally...... enjoy that jello, Chris! Is it vodka-spiked?!
 
Chris -- I'm so sorry I forgot to list the website -- www.deepdiscount.com It's already cheaper there. And yeah, I kept on making a funny face when someone was talking about anesthesia for the colonoscopy and I finally asked Joe, hey, I don't remember getting one and I remember it sucking hardcore. Joe confirmed that I did not get it. I even checked my insurance EOBs for the trip. It probably wasn't covered under my crappy student health insurance under a certain age (I was under 25 at the time). It really was a pretty crappy experience but it was worsened by Joe regressing to a five year old and was just laughing and giggling through the entire experience. I almost didn't marry him (it was a couple weeks before the date).

Beth -- it sounds like you had a nice time with Larry! I wish I could see Joe in the middle of the day more. We only work 3 mi away from each other but the nature of our jobs prevent us from just chilling from our jobs for a lunch or two. Though I wasn't always so keen on supporting him financially when we first were together, I miss being able to see him whenever I wanted. I was just talking to someone in my lab today (the convo started out with my vest) about how she was fried from a weight workout that does a bizzillion reps with light weights. But she won't believe me that super heavy weights don't bulk you up. She's a total cardio junkie and thinks muscles on women look ugly. ::sigh:: It wouldn't be all that bad if I didn't hear them talk about my muscle gain. It's more than annoying to have people who smoke and drink tell me how I should eat healthier and people who are naturally thin and pretty tell me I overdo it with exercise. But I tell myself I'm happier this way and that's all that should matter....and that karma will get their ass and I'll be able to watch it one day. Eek. I need to work on my own karma!! :)

I'm in this middle period of the day where I still have to wait until I can do two experiments but I just ate so I'm not sure if I should go to the gym...yay....surfing the web and getting distracted by the forums.
