Joint pain?

Ok, I know we all get aches and pains from time to time, and I am not trying to be whiny, but this popped up a month or month and a half ago and WILL NOT go away. The thing is, everything hurts. Ankles, wrists, knees, elbows, shoulders, shoulder blades, lower neck, hips, low back and my right thumb,. Just BAM out of the blue maybe 6 weeks ago. It hurts worse in the morning, and worse just to to sit and be than to be moving around. As long as I'm moving, I'm ok, but once I stop - the ache just kicks in. A loud, painful ache. I haven't change routine, so I don't think its anything new I'm doing. The only thing I've done is added an extra dog walk or 3 a week, just bc the weather has been so nice, but I don't think that would do it. Just this morning driving to work was killing my right ankle and right wrist. A couple of the joints (right wrist, left shoulder) I can feel grating, rubbing, but nothing else. Ironically, the part that hurts the least is my left knee, which has had 2 surgeries. Great surgeon, huh? My guess is arthritis of some sort - but just out of the blue? Anyone else have this pop up from nowhere? Time to see the Dr? Or do I wait it out a bit more? The only other significant change is that I've lost about 12 lb (on purpose - not diseases or illness related) so I though maybe my body was trying to realign or re establish a new balance point, that would explain knee/ankles/hips, but not wrist and shoulders.

HELP!!!

Nan

ETA: I'm 31 yrs old, if it matters.
ETA, again: It's getting to the point where its keeping me up at night, or at least making it hard to fall asleep. Then I wake up hurting. NOT cool!

Nan, I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through -- I don't know if this will help, but it may be worth a try -- I've heard omegas help with joint pain -- are you taking any omega supplements?

good luck!

I have been dealing with something very similar since January. I have gone to PT for both shoulder pain and ankle pain. Both were diagnosed as tendonitis, but I am not convinced that is what they are. I also have a lot of low back pain and neck pain along with other random things that hurt on and off. I have been going to a doctor continuously about it and at this point after some blood work that came out fine, they are thinking possible fibromyalgia. I don't like that diagnosis because there really is no test to prove it. All I know is the pain is awful. I lowered my impact, stopped running and lifting heavy thinking that was the cause, but still doesn't seem to want to go away. Some days are worse than others.

Good luck, hopefully you will get better soon.

I'm sorry you're in pain. Is it possible you have Lyme Disease? You mentioned walking your dogs more and joint pain is very common w/ Lyme. The bull's eye rash only shows up in less than half the cases. You can take a blood test to determine if you have it.

Hope you find an answer soon--

Two things: since this has been going on for about 6 weeks and especially now that it is waking you at night, you really should go to a dr. Jonahnah´s comment about Lyme disease is to be considered, too.

I agree with the Lyme disease comments. I walk the dog where there are no trees and I found a tick in my hair. Totally grossed me out. It had not embedded itself yet though, I think.

Also auto immune disease like Lupus can have the same symptoms. Please make an appointment with your doctor.

Lyme was my first thought too. I had awful joint pain when I had Lyme. Sorry you are in pain, good luck!

I also agree that you should see your doctor. I would suggest keeping a journal of every ache/pain or unusual symptom of any kind. I have lupus, and joint pain is the #1 symptom reported with the disease. But for any autoimmune disorder it can take a long time to get a diagnosis. Mine came after only 2 years of journaling everything. Hopefully it's something minor, but with as much info as you can provide it will make the Dr's job much easier. Hope you're feeling better soon!
