Jogglers November!!!

Absent-minded 50 yo checkin in again - finally!

I'm going to start fresh today! I'm sure you two have just been killing those workouts! I finally got my butt in gear today and did my Day 1 BBX Hardcore workout. Sheesh. My mental attitude has been so sucky lately! I could almost cry! My endurance is back to total BLECH and so is my strength. That's what I get for laying off for several months. It's my own fault, but I'm going to try to keep my focus forward and not dwell on what the summer has been like.

I'm still eating partially raw, Alisha. I really do want to transition to 90-100% raw, but I still need my uber-blender and good juicer. Slowly, but surely! I'd say I'm staying about 50-60% right now and you know, I can sure tell a difference between now and when I was closer to 100%! I'm reading another book right now called Becoming Raw that has all the science and history of the raw foods movement. I know I'll learn a lot from it!

Jane - I hope your race went well! I'm sure you and your sister rocked it!

I'm really, REALLY hoping this is me finally coming out of my funk! I start the Chalene Johnson Push Jump Start program today, too, so I know that will help as well.

Have a fabulous day!

Tricia- Go get your Vit. D levels checked again. You sound just like my Mom when her Vit. D level is very low. You can get vegan vit. d from mushrooms (especially shitakes but those are best cooked.)

Mmmm mushroom pizza!!! oh wait, sorry, I am supposed to be helping you get thinner:eek::p

I am taking today as a rest day. I cooked some steel cut oatmeal for breakfast and then I made some blackberry lemon muffins with coconut oil. I was so good, I only had one! Anywhoo, yesterday's photo shoot was great. My Dad and I had a great time and we had dinner at a place called Al the Wop (no kidding, I know its an ethnic slur.) in a little town called Locke. We shared a t-bone steak. It was so good!

Tomorrow will be a run/walk. I'm getting back in the swing of weight loss. I felt it a couple of times last week, I am getting longer workouts. The endurance seems to be the key for me. Viva la calorie burn!

Jane- how goes it?

Alisha

Hi! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after Saturday's Half Marathon. I had the most incredible time even though I didn't get a PR although I was literally within seconds of getting it.

The morning was cold!! I had to scrape the ice off the car but we were lucky that he got to stay in the Infantry museum until the race start. The race started with a cannon blast and we were off. The first part of the race was through Fort Benning, not the base but through the area around it. There were lots of soldiers around to motivated us and I thanked almost every one for their service. One guy told me no...you inspire us. I thought that was so sweet. I felt really good on this 1/2. I had to fight with a GU package that took away my precious PR seconds (although I did not know it at the time). The GU package won and I ended up throwing it out unopened. I guess my fingers were partially frozen. Actually once we started running I really didn't feel the cold. The second part of the race was on the river walk that was a paved trail through the woods. It was really pretty...in fact most the run was really beautiful.

We were invited to run the race for a fallen hero so I ran for a 32 year old Army Specialist that was killed in Afghanistan in August of this year. It was really sad and I only hope I did well for him. We had special bibs with their names and I had mine on my back. I also carried my dad's dog tag from WWII in my pocket to honor him as well. He would have loved to be there.

The finish line was at the end of the avenue of flags which was really beautiful. They announced my name when I finished and then I was suddenly in a sea of soldiers that were handing me my medal and special coin. Many of the them were congratulating me and every one of them called me ma'am.

I am very sore today but will get back to my workouts tomorrow. I was so tired that I went to sleep at 8pm last night.

Tricia ~ Don't think about the summer...just focus on each day as it comes. Come on girl...that is for the '61 girls!!!

Alisha ~ I hope you enjoyed your rest day. Save me a blueberry lemon muffin. They sound fantastic!!!

I'm about to go for a long hike and then its 25 min. of yoga with Desi.

Jane- What a wonderful race! I think it counts as a PR because of that gu issue.

Tricia- Have you finished your book 'becoming raw'? Was it a good read?

Alisha

Happy Monday!

I'm glad it's over. I was busy. Everyone that was out of the office last week were back today.

Here's my workout for tonight. It was near 80 degrees today. I wish it would stay like this forever!

50 H2H Swings
40 Sit ups
30 Renegade Rows
2 Driveway Run
40 H2H Swings
30 Sit ups
20 Renegade Rows
2 Driveway Runs
30 H2H Swings
20 Sit ups
10 Renegade Rows
2 Driveway Runs

Alisha ~ How was the hike today?

Tricia ~ Hope you had a great Monday!

Jane- Monday's hike was great. Yesterday I did Step Fit. I should have added risers but I was klutzy anyway and almost fell:eek:

I'm taking today as a rest day. I'm up to my ears in family members with post operative recovery. Everybody seems to be getting their surgeries at the same time. Anywhoo, I will be spending the evening with a friend who just had a hysterectomy.

I did not do real well this AM. I had 3 little brownies for breakfast. But, they were good.;) I will behave the rest of the day.

Tricia- It turns out my friend Lisa is getting into the raw food stuff. I may get caught up in this except for one or two little things, such as brownies, banana nut bread, and sausage (salty makes my day.) However, I could see myself being raw 75% of the time. In a word, smoothies!

Yesterday was my rest day. I had to make a cake and cookies for my sister's bake sale.

Tonight will be my 400 rep leg day.

Alisha ~ Have you earned your nurse's cap yet? You are a great friend. I am a total klutz when it comes to step which is way I don't do it. I got a bad sprain from step once. I am so hungry right now...those 3 little brownies sound fantastic!

Hi Tricia!

Evening ladies!

Good grief! 3 days since I checked in! You know why? I haven't worked out or eaten well. I forget to check in when I'm doing badly, so you'll know what's going on whenever I'm missing!

Working on getting better. Made an attempt to get up at 6 a.m. to do my workout today. It was a no-go. Mainly because I didn't sleep most of the night. Had a really weird dream that totally freaked me out for some reason even though it wasn't anywhere near as bad as most of my dark dreams. Go figure.

Going to try again tomorrow!

Alisha - Glad you had a great photo shoot! lol about the mushroom pizza! Actually, that wouldn't be too bad since I don't eat cheese! I'm glad you had a nice hike, too! So sorry about everyone having surgery! Hope they are all recovering well!

Raw is not really that hard and you can make wonderful desserts that are delicious and healthy! You'd be surprised!

Jane - Again, fabulous race you had! Love your workout from the other day too! I wish it would be 80 here all winter long - or at least until January! We were close! We've been almost at 70 for the last few days, but today, we dipped back down to 60 which still wasn't bad. Tomorrow comes the really cold stuff again though! Brrr!

Hope you had a great 400 rep workout tonight!

I'm doing Chalene's 30-Day Push Jump Start and hope this will really kick me back into gear! So far, so good, but I just got stuck on my SMART health/fitness goal! Ugh. Back to the drawing board on that one!

Have a great night you two!

Oops! Alisha - I have not finished my Becoming Raw book yet! I'm barely into it! It's almost 240 pages of info, then the last 100 pages are nutrition guidelines, menus and recipes. I've just started Chapter 3 which covers scientific evidence of raw foods and disease. Lots to digest - so to speak!

Tricia- When things are going badly is when you need to check in the most.

Jane-No nurse's cap:p 400 reps for each leg or both legs?

I'm going to go for a joggle down by the river. I'm all dressed and ready to go. I'm just waiting for it to warm up a weensy bit. Tomorrow will be Low Max.

Alisha

Alisha - That run sounds like a wonderful one! Hope it warmed up enough for you to go!

I know I need to check in more. I just forget. :(

No workout again. I'm so lame. Tomorrow is Friday and I will do my workout for you guys! Maybe that will get me moving. Knowing that I have 2 people I respect and love counting on me! I'll give it whirl!

Jane - I saw your evening's workout over on the S&L page. Nice work! Hope you had a good day!

Have a great Friday! My husband doesn't have class and I wish I could stay home with him, but, alas, I must do my 9-5. :(:(

TGIF!

Here's my workout from last tonight. I hate this time of year. I don't like running in the dark but I wore my headlamp so it was ok.

400m Run
25 Sumo Deadlift High Pull
200m Run
25 Ball Slams
200m Run
25 Swings
200m Run
25 Push ups
200m Run
25 Lateral Jumps
400m Run

2 Rounds
10 pull over sit ups
10 1-arm sit ups 10/10
20 Russian Twists

Tonight we are running downtown under the Christmas lights!!! We run a couple of laps up and back.

Tricia ~ You are NOT lame, you just need to get in a groove. You better do a workout for Alisha and me. We need you to do it really bad...so just do it!! :)

Alisha ~ 400 reps total - 10 rounds, 10 reps of back squats, zercher squats, thrusters and sumo squats. My legs are very, very sore. They recovered after the 1/2 but I shouldn't have done 400 reps. I haven't done this workout in a couple of weeks so I'm paying the price.

I hope you had a nice joggle down by the river. Sounds beautiful!!

Hopefully this day will go quickly. Then I only work Monday and Tuesday and then I'm off of work until December 1. Can't wait!! I'm not doing anything special except for cleaning the house and going through closets. My house is a mess.

Take care,

Tricia- I'm counting on you!!!!! And you ain't lame!;)

Jane- That seems like such a tough workout, omg!

I'm about to do Low Max. I'm all set up. I just like to sit for a minute before I get started. My nose is a bit runny, I hope its just from having cheese and stuff like that. This evening I will do some Shiva Rae yoga. Tomorrow will be a joggle.

Alisha

Put on four pounds

I hate weight gain. It mocks me. The scale, it mocks me. I hate it.

Anyway, just to spite it, I went for a really long run with hills, intervals, and burned over 650 cal. Take that, scale!

I plan on some advanced yoga this evening. I have to go see some family this morning at a restaurant, I will just drink some tea. It ain't easy, but its what I have got to do. After wards I have to buy some new pants, I can't wear mine anymore.:(:(:(

Catch ya later!

Hi ladies!

I failed you - again :(

Alisha - Just stick your tongue out at that bad, bad scale! You shall beat it into submission! Nice run! 650 cals is awesome! How was Low Max? That's one of my favorites!

Jane - You do the coolest workouts! Now that it's so dark out, I have to wait to do kettlebells and outdoor stuff until it starts lightening up again. We don't have any backyard lights.

I KNOW I'll get back into the swing of things at some point. Until then, I shall live vicariously through you two! Hope that'll be okay! :D:D

Have a great night!

Happy Sunday!

Here's my workout from Saturday:

Push and Pull
5 Rounds - 10 SDHP and 10 Thrusters
5 Rounds - 10 Sit ups and 10 Push ups
5 Rounds - 10 Pull ups and 10 Ball Slams
5 Rounds - 10 barbell rows and 10 push press

This morning I went for a 8.5 mile run. It was really humid this morning.

The weekend went by so fast. I was up early yesterday as I had to take the car in and then went shopping with my mom and sister while waiting for it to be finished. We adopted 2 small families for Christmas so we were out buying stuff for them.

Today I went for my run, make Christmas cookies and am trying to pick up around the house.

Tricia ~ Alisha and I will be here waiting for you. My carport like doesn't work. I need to get an electrician out to put in a new light with a fan but we do have 2 floodlights so that helps. I also have a headlight for when I go running. After December 21st, the days start getting longer again so we'll get more light after work.

Alisha ~ Throw out that scale!! I'm sure the hike took care of all the pounds.

Jane- Those cookies sound great! I love adopting families! We usually contribute to a family but this year we don't have the funds.

I am going to do RS this morning. This evening I will do some yoga. Tomorrow will be a joggle.

I'm down a pound. I am hoping that its water.

Alisha

I think it was about 85 degrees today but beautiful. My sister saw 2 bats before our workout this evening.

Here is tonight's workout. I think we hit almost every muscle group with this one.
Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes
10 Push ups, 10 Swings, 10 Step ups

Then - complete as many rounds as possible in 30 minutes
10 Swings
10 Squats
5 Clean and Press R/L
5 Lunges R/L
5 Slasher to Halos R/L
2 Mr Spectaculars
5 Rows R/L
30 Step ups 15R/15L

Alisha ~ Yay...down a pound!!! Great job. Hope you had a great workout today. The cookies turned out good. They were butterscotch shortbread cookies. Yum! I only had 1 cookies for quality control purposes.

Hi Tricia!

Jane- Normally I would say that batting a 1000 is a good thing, but under those circumstances, I think that only batting 2 is better. Your cookies sound really tasty. I was thinking about making some ginger snaps.

I was up most of the night with IBS, so I'm just really tired. I think I will take a Shiva Rae yoga day instead of a run. IBS requires me to be close to home, not 3 miles away on foot. Tomorrow will be my joggle.

Alisha

I am taking a rest today. This is also my last day of work until December 1. Yay!!! Hopefully I'll be focused and be able to tackle some stuff around the house.

Alisha ~ I hope you feel better soon! Yoga sounds like a good substitution. I love gingersnaps. For my sister's bake sale I had ginger chocolate drops. They were good. They have dried cherries and bittersweet chocolate in them as well.
