Jogglers Jan 2012: Happy New Year!

Alisha - Hope you got your workout in today! Ugh. Hate car issues! Hope it's nothing serious or expensive! Are you still reading HP books? What will the book club do when you're done? It would seem a shame to disband.

I got Turbo Fire 45 done tonight! Day 1 of 30!

Hi Jane! Hope your day went well today!

I'm taking a rest day.

Tricia ~ Congrats for climbing back on the wagon today!! WTG!!

Alisha ~ I hope your mom's car is ok and not too expensive. Hope you got your workout in this afternoon.

As it turns out pancakes aren't diet food, even if they are made with coconut oil. :p So, I put on a couple of pounds, but I learned something and I now know that yogurt, plus hard boiled eggs plus coconut Manna equals weight loss. Anywhoo, I'm still down a net of 1.5 pounds. I'm happy with that. I think that some of that was water because my ankles are swollen. I just don't remember eating something salty.

Last night I did my Cathe cardio. Today will be a 4 mile joggle in the afternoon. Its really cold out there. I'm spending the day doing data entry. Tomorrow will be a yoga today.com workout. Normally I do my trusty 'nerves of steel.' download, but I might try something new.

Jane-I did get that workout. And, it turns out my Mom's car was only a couple hundred bucks and they will be done this afternoon. :D:D:D:D We thought it was going to be more like $2,000 and two weeks! Enjoy your rest day.

Tricia- We are rather serious about our Harry Potter. We read the other auxilliary books not by JK Rowling and we do the board games and we write and discuss papers on the subject. I make treacle tart for Christmas. I am also reading a newer series by Duane called "So You Want to be a Wizard?" We don't restrict what people can read, we just try to relate it to Harry in some way. For example, right now I'm working on a paper about all of the magical shiny surfaces, including mirrors, gazing pools, gazing balls (Sybill Trelwany would have had one.), the pensieve, Sirius's two way mirror, the mirror of Eresed. I think there are others, I'm just not thinking of them right now.

Tricia-Good job on your workout!

Since I was by myself tonight. I did Cathe's High Step Training. I forgot how hard that workout was. Whew!! I'm glad it's over.

Alisha ~ Congrats on the weight loss! I love hard boiled eggs. I make a dozen every week. They are great to have on hand and have lots of good protein. I'm glad your mom's car was done today and it didn't set you back too much money. After tonight are weather gets warm again...in the 70's during the day and 40's and 50's at tonight.

Tricia ~ Hope you got your workout in tonight. Keep up the good work!!

Alisha - NOOOOOOooooooo! Pancakes aren't diet food? :(

Glad you still registered a loss! Congrats! Also, good news your om's car was not bad off. Pretty cool about your HP group! Glad you can keep it interesting! Hope you managed to get in your joggle!

Jane - I haven't done HST. Now, I'm afraid of it! Thanks Jane! ;)

I did manage to get my workout in today! 2 days down, 28 to go! Did Turbo Fire HIIT 15. Not much room on the huge couch tonight because everyone wants to cuddle! lol Just made my husband move because I was trying to type and had my arm on him.

Well, have a great night you two! See you tomorrow!

I never got to go for a joggle yesterday. I was super busy driving all over. This morning, I will do drill max. Tomorrow will be RS and Saturday will be MMA KB. The reason for the indoor workouts is rain. Forecast says 5 days of it. :D That means less drought:)

Tricia-Good job on day number 2!

Jane- I think thats one of the few Cathe workouts I don't have. Often those circuits look deceptively easy. She sneaks up on you.

Alisha

I went for a 3 mile run tonight. It was nice out tonight.

Tomorrow is a rest day because I have a 10K race on Saturday morning - the first race of 2012.

Alisha ~ How was Drill Max? Did you do the whole thing or do one of the premixes? That is one hard workout!

Tricia ~ Great job on workout #2.

Evening ladies!

Alisha - Busy days do get in the way sometimes! 5 days of rain? Ugh. That's depressing. At least you have plenty to do indoors!

Jane - Good luck on your race Saturday!

Drill Max is killer! I try to get through the whole thing, but have yet to make it! lol

I did Day 3 tonight - Turbo Fire 30, then I made a vegan potato soup. You wouldn't think it would need to be modified, but it uses butter and chicken stock, so I subbed Earth Balance and vegetable broth. Still completely yummy!

I wasn't going to get on the scale! I wasn't going to get on the scale! I got on the scale . . . . . . . . . . . shouldn't have gotten on the scale. That's all I'm going to say. :(:(:(

I'm waiting for the power to come back on. Normally I would run, but its pouring. The power company says it will be back by 10 am. So, I'm sitting at Whole Foods, enjoying the free wifi. I had some oatmeal and salmon for breakfast. Nummy!!! I hope to get an hour of yoga before bed and do RS before lunch. Tomorrow will be a mish mosh with the cardio drills from MMA KB and MMA boxing plus the bootcamp premix on Intensity.

I got a phone call yesterday, I have moved into the next round of interviews at the nursery. I think that would be really interesting and its not just sitting on my butt or worse working in a restaurant.

Tricia- I also weighed in, I'm sorry that it sucked:( Your soup sounds really good, try adding some blue potatoes for extra anthocyanins. They taste just like new reds. Try a spoonful of coconut oil instead of the spread for a super metabolic boost.

Jane-I meant to do the whole thing but I only made it to minute 53 before I wussed out. Dang that is a hard workout. I am so sore today.

Alisha

Yesterday I did the cardio blast premix from BM2 instead of RS. It was so much fun!!! We have a cracked water pipe out by the well. I won't exercise until later when my brother has fixed it. I can't shower. I will probably just do a very intense yoga session with Yoga Today. But, I might just do my mish mosh instead. My butt still hurts from Drill Max.

Tricia- This is day 2 of the rain. It looks like it might have a break tomorrow, I'm crossing my fingers, I need to run.

Jane- How was the 10k?

Alisha

I didn't get around to my yoga last night. I was having dementor attacks and probably should do it at that time, but didn't have it in me to escape the couch of doom. I'm about to go for a joggle. Its a little damp out there, but what the heck. I don't have hot water for a shower after but I do have baby wipes and I just don't want to go for another week with a joggle. This past week was all Cathe. Cathe is great but running is great too, I need the fresh air. Tomorrow will be the intensity mish mosh I meant to do yesterday.

Catch ya later!

Alisha

Happy Monday!

I'm sorry I've been MIA. I had a busy weekend.

I had a good race on Saturday. It was a smaller race but nice. The weather was humid and in the 60's. We ran through a trail with some animals (goats, donkeys and emus) nearby, under trees dripping with Spanish moss and along the river. It was very scenic at times. There was a VERY STEEP hill between miles 4 and 5 that I decided to walk up. Then I had to walk some more until I got to the downhill which was quite pleasant and it took me to about mile 5. Then I finally passed up an older man (78 and recovering from knee surgery) at about the 5.5 mile mark. I was struggling but managed to finish with a good time. I felt really good. I placed 4th in my age group. I probably would have gotten a medal but they used the 10 year age groups 50-59 instead of 5 year age groups and they did not give out masters awards. My sister ran the 5K and got 3rd in her age group.

Sunday I ran 6.5 miles. My legs felt a bit mushy but whatever, I did it. Then I went to mom's house and spent the day with her. I am doing something today but will post the workout later tonight.

Alisha ~ Congrats on the call back!!! When do you go back for the next interview? I hope you have hot water soon! How was the joggle? We had a damp joggle yesterday. It has been warm and rainy here.

Tricia ~ Step back from the scale. Ignore it. Cover it up and forget about it. Just keep doing what you are doing.

BBL with a workout for today.

I'm going to do Yoga instead of intensity. I did get my workout in yesterday. I might end up doing intensity too. . .it depends on how I feel. I'm spending the day doing data entry. Its raining pretty good out there.

Yesterday was a wet one. In the morning, the upstairs plumbing sprung a leak all over my desk downstairs. So, I spent the whole day going through papers and throwing out the ones with mold and the ones that were too damp to be saved. I also threw out a ton of old tech magazines. I figure anything older than 2009 is no longer relevant. Camera technology moves just as fast as software/computers, within a few months you can be obsolete. I did some yoga before bed to help me sleep.

Jane- Good job on your race!

Tricia- Did you get a workout?

I'm about to go for a joggle, do the low impact HIIT from intensity. This afternoon is Yoga Relax. Tomorrow will be Step Blast.

Jane- That looks like a great workout!:)

Tricia-I hope you aren't forgetting that we don't care if you did get a workout or didn't.;)

Alisha

I'm resting today.

The workout yesterday really fried my arms. I don't do double kettlebells often but WOW...a great workout!!

Alisha ~ Hope you have a great joggle today.

Tricia ~ Where are you??????

Sorry ladies for being AWOL so long! I hadn't realized - again - that I had been gone so long!

Alisha - Must really stink (no pun intended) not to have water! What a mess that burst pipe must have made! I hope your computer is okay at least!

Jane - Great work on your workouts this weekend!

I actually did pretty well this weekend! I worked out through Saturday, then pooped out. We had tons of snow on Saturday and I didn't go anywhere all weekend. Sunday, I cooked. Made lentil stew while my raw veggie burgers and raw buns dehydrated and last night I made a raw BBQ sauce to go with them. They are amazing! I need practice on the buns though. lol They came out smaller than the burgers! I was craving Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich for lunch today, but was strong and came home and had lentil stew. Yay!

I've been listening to interviews on Rawpalooza with tons of raw food experts and chefs. It's been pretty cool!

After all that snow, we got rain last night and warmer temps. 60 today! It was fantastic!

I'm still trying to get up some long term oomph for my workouts. I'm just not having fun. If it were spring and the sun was up a little longer - it's getting there, but not quite light enough yet - I'd just do what I used to do, which is change clothes and go run right after work! It's what I've been wanting to do for a while!

Anyway, I'm still trying and I'm working on getting my eating going well. It's better, but weekends are still a bust! I've decided to study nutrition if I ever get to go back to school and work it with raw food coaching. That's my goal. I can work for myself and not have to go in to an office.

So, that's what's been going on!

You girls rock! Love you much!

Oh, btw! I was going to go on RT remember? Well, I decided since I've not been in good condition for a while and it's not going to get better for a while, that instead of spending all that money on RT, I'm going to get my Vitamix. It probably won't be until February or March, but that'll be fine! There's a great 10 week raw food course I'd love to take, but don't know if the hubs will let me do it as it's $300, plus the $500 for the VitaMix may be a bit much right now. Maybe in the summer.

Okay, now I'm done! lol

Have a great night!

I am taking a rest day, ttotm. Anywhoo, I am being really good with the eats. I had a grass fed beef salad for breakfast and drank green tea. I've been cleaning out my email box all morning. Whoever thought that email would make us more efficient had never had an email box. Sheesh.

This evening is Harry Potter book club. We will be discussing the upcoming Harry Potter Wizarding camp in Los Angeles, next month. It is going to be so much fun!

Tomorrow I have my interview at Green Acres. I'm not really sure what to expect. I guess you could say I'm a little bit green.:p

Its sunny outside. Looks like that was the only rain we were going to get. The forecast says sun for the next ten days.

Tricia- My computer is ok because I keep it upstairs! Luckily, it was clean water;) That vitamix sounds like a great investment! I'm not in shape enough for RT either:eek:

Jane- I'm thinking about trying the KBs, which DVD do you suggest to start?

Alisha

Hey Alisha! First, before I forget, good luck on your interview tomorrow! I hope you get this job! My email box has almost 200 saved messages and that's after cleaning out about 200 or so! I feel your pain! Are you planning on going to Wizarding camp at some point? Sounds like it would be a blast! I hope your book club was fun tonight!

Oooh, Alisha, if you try KB, you'll be addicted! Jane is the best one to ask about that!

Guess what? No workout again, but I noticed that it was significantly lighter out tonight at 5 pm! I'm thinking next week I'll start running training again right after work 3 days a week until I"m back up to at least 3 straight miles again, then I'll up it to 4 days a week. That way, I can't talk myself out of a workout like I do at home. Besides, I've been whining about running for quite a while now! Might as well start back on the days it's light enough out!

Hi Jane! Hope you had a good day today!

Here is tonight's workout:

3 Rounds of 6 each of: double kettlebell deadlifts, Barbell Thrusters, Weighted Walking Lunges (6 each side)

Driveway Farmer's carry + 10 x weighted lunges
Driveway Farmer's carry + 9 x weighted lunges
Driveway Farmer's carry + 8 x weighted lunges

15 minutes of 10 ball slams, 10 swings, 10 push ups - I did 8 rounds

3 sets of 10 reps of bicep curls - 40#

3 sets of 6 jumping pull ups

I am short on time tonight.

Alisha - Good Luck on your interview tomorrow. I will be thinking of you.

I'll be back tomorrow morning and give you some recommendations for KB workouts.
