Jogglers Jan 2012: Happy New Year!

Tricia-I think that you want to rest on the weekends because you don't move around during the work week. Its a simple case of momentum. A body at rest vs. a body in motion. Just tell Stephen you need a little push. :D

I haven't been sleeping well at all. I figure its the full moon peaking in my window. He likes to stay up all night (the moon that is.) I could have gone to a training class, but I decided to stay home and rest instead.

I plan to do a yoga mid morning. I will spend the day working on data entry and doing household chores. The dishes look like a small mountain and the laundry is a big mountain.

Jane- 9 miles plus a walk? Thats really good, but I would be tired. That soup sounds soo good!

Alisha

I am taking a rest day.

Alisha ~ I was VERY tired on Sunday. I think I was in bed before 9:30. I hope you get some sleep tonight. I've been sleeping really good. The full moon has been beautiful. Hope you had a nice yoga workout.

Tricia ~ I just try to keep moving as much as possible but I do tend to do too much. It was beautiful this weekend and Maggie is such a cute, little pup that I like to visit her as much as I can.

Hope you guys are having a great day!

Evening ladies!

I agree that the moon has been a beaut!

Alisha - I've been having trouble with sleep as well although I had a good night last night. Still couldn't get up this morning for a workout - it was too cold! Brrr! We turn the heat down at night and it doesn't kick on until 6:30 a.m.

Jane - I've got to start doing at least half as much activity as you are every day!

The sitting all day also has messed up my hamstring flexibility. I have other ideas as to why my momentum, motivation and desire to keep fit have been waning so badly, but it would take a book and I also don't want to depress you guys! I think turning 50 has subconsciously had a really big effect on things that are going on externally. Even though I don't really acknowledge age as such, it is still there. Oh, well. I'll eventually find a way to get past it. Maybe in about 4 years?:confused:

I'm thinking about trying to work through Cathe's January total body rotation, but I need a sub for STS Total Body. I don't have that one. Any suggestions?

Enjoy your evening ladies!

Tricia- I don't have that one either, I guess any whole body high reps workout would do.

I did some yoga last night before bed. I don't know why I fight it. I think its just by that time I'm tired. Maybe I should do it first thing in the AM before my cardio. . . idk.
I'm about to go for a joggle. Its sunny. I wonder if we are ever getting any winter. We haven't had any yet. I hate to say it, but the D-word (drought) might be coming into play here.

Jane- I love the doggies, I get to see at least 2-3 every time I go out for my joggles, I think that they always want to come with me.:p

Alisha

Good Afternoon,

Here is my workout for tonight:

100 Jump Rope

50 - Swings
40 - KB Overhead Sit ups
30 - Loaded Jump Squats
20 - Walking Lunges (20 each leg)
10 - Renegade Rows
5 - Traveling Squat Thrusts (squat thrust - lateral hop - squat thrust = 1 rep)

200 Jump Rope

5 - Traveling Squat Thrusts
10 - Push ups
20 - Tuck Jumps over the step
30 - Step Ups (30 each leg)
40 - Kettlebell Press 20r/20l
50 - Squats

Tricia ~ I think you should be able to substitute any total body weight workout that you have.

I'm sorry the age thing has gotten you down. I don't really think about it and I just consider it a number. It's meaningless to me really and when I actually like about it, it kinda freaks me out because I truly feel like a 10 year old most of the time. I don't have any regrets and I wouldn't change anything in my life. I'm sure you'll find a way to move past it.

Alisha ~ We haven't had much of a winter yet either and I hope we don't. I just don't like the cold and I don't have the proper clothes and refuse to buy any cold weather clothes when I'm going to wear it for a couple of days anyway. So here's hoping this will stay just they way they are.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon and evening!!

Evening ladies!

Alisha - Hope you had a good joggle! Did you mean you didn't do yoga? I'm confused. I know what you mean about the weather! We're still getting our few arctic blast days, but it warms right back up and we haven't had any snow. Whew! It can stay further up north!

Jane - Love that workout! I copied it into my folder for spring time!

I don't think the age thing would be bothering me so much if I wasn't constantly thinking about the fact that I have at least 4 more years before I can really DO anything other than stagnate at home and keep going through Groundhog Day. It's really bumming me out so badly that it's de-motivating me to do anything at all. I know that I should fight it and keep working towards the things I want to accomplish, but I keep hitting a wall. I get back up and then something happens to bring me back down. It's a vicious cycle of up and down. Sigh.

Oh, well. Maybe I can at least get the workouts going again. That, at least, fits into hamster wheel of going round and round - get up, get ready for work, work, home, workout, bed, etc. . . . .

Sleep well my dearest friends! See you tomorrow! Hopefully, in a better mood!

Tricia- Have you bought a copy of Renee Stephen's book 'Full-Filled'? It sounds like you might benefit from it. I have and I thought I was all finished with limiting beliefs:eek: Something is holding you back from making progress. The fact that it happens to be a diet book is irrelevant, she doesn't really talk about food much at all. Its more of a life book so don't be deterred by her focus on weight loss. It could just as easily be 'slowing down my life' loss.

I had a nasty limiting belief about safety and being slender being mutually exclusive. I have worked through that one, it was left over from some early child hood abuse, very long ago. Why would a 30 year old injury matter? it doesn't, but here is the thing, if I let the 3 year old in me drive the bus, its going to be bad, very bad. After all, how many 3 year olds are walking around with mature logic and problem solving? none.

Jane- I don't have much in the way of cold weather clothing either. I own just one compression top with sleeves. I don't even own cold weather tights. I do have one pair of warm socks. I love those cause they are so cushiony and soft:)

I was going to do a Cathe. I have an unexpected job interview at a new landscape nursery (plants not babies.) I am just going on a lark. But, it means no time for Cathe this morning. I will pick out a yoga workout for later today. Tomorrow will be another joggle.

Alisha

Tricia ~ Now I understand what you are talking about now. That was me from the end of 2008 through most of 2011. I was in a holding pattern with my dad's illness and then my mom's illness. It's hard!! But life is all about routine...I actually feel like I'm still on the hamster wheel....get up, go to work, workout, go to bed. Actually I have more appreciation for the mundane things now because of dealing with the issues of those couple of years. Believe me...mundane is good. In any case, I do understand where you are at and I know that it can be tough and de-motivating, however, you are a strong person and you will find your way. I know you will!! If anything, write up a grateful list and put it my your bed and read it every morning and every night. It will help with your perspective.

Alisha ~ Good luck on the job interview!! That sounds like fun!! I interviewed at a plant nursery a long time ago. It was one of the hardest interviews I've ever been on. The owner asked me some really hard and interesting questions. I got a call back for a second interview but it didn't pay enough money.

I am going running tonight. We will probably do about 3 miles or so. It's in the 70's now but it's suppose to be in the 30's tonight and the 50's tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Hey Alisha - Good luck with the interview! I hope it went well! I wish I lived somewhere it got chilly, but not cold! We're supposed to be going skiing at Waterville, NH on Saturday and the high temp is only going to be 13 with windy conditions so the wind chill will probably go below zero! Brrrr! I may end up at the bar with a big glass of scotch! lol

I'll check out that book. Thank you for the recommendation!

Jane - Maybe I'll come spend the winters with you! 70s? Awesome! Hope you got in a good run tonight! I think I will make a grateful list! Thanks for that suggestion!

I had a mammogram appointment today, so when I went in to work this morning, I let my bosses know. Martin, who is the main attorney I work for, was fine with it. Matt, the one who handles all the office management stuff, was pissy and asked what time it was. I don't understand why it matters so much and bothers him so much when I take my drs appointments. No one else gets this treatment. I get the same when I try to schedule vacations days. I'm so fed up! I wish I could just quit, but, as you know, I have 4 more years before I can do that! I hate that trapped feeling! I told my husband that from now on, since I never use sick days anyway, I'm going to use them for my doctor's appointments. That way, no one can get pissy about the 2 hours I need for appointments! I'll just take the whole darn day. The whole job situation isn't helping my mood and emotional state either. Sigh.

Sorry to be so grumpy these days.

Tricia- That just means that Matt can't get by without you. But, definitely use your sick days. Of course, if he gets worse remind him that a hostile work environment is a bad thing. He should know better.

Jane-thats true, mundane is good. We just went through that whole thing with my Aunty in the hospital (she is doing well.) and man did I wish for my regular routine!

I am taking a yoga day. I hope I can do some Cathe this evening. I have this heat rash thing that is really painful. I cleaned it and put on some body glide. I don't think I can do friction today. I am hoping to run tomorrow. I will just have a super low carb day because skin infections love to eat sugar in your blood stream.

Alisha

Tricia ~ Everyone here takes sick time for doctor's appointment. I don't know why they allow it though, since everyone (except me) is a consultant and they should at least try to make up their time because their time is billable. Instead of using sick time, I always make up my time.

He should definitely know better. I don't think anyone should get the evil eye for going to a doctor's appointment.

Have fun skiing tomorrow.

Alisha ~ Hope you can do your Cathe workout tonight but at least you got to do yoga.

Here is my workout for tonight. I thought it looked interesting. I cut down the push ups from 24 to 12 but added on some more exercises.

TGIF ladies!

Alisha - Hope you get quick relief from that heat rash! I can't get over how painful those things are!

Hm, I hope that's why he gets so mad about my very few appointments. I hope I can survive 4 more years! Even if Stephen gets a job up here and we don't move away, I'm quitting the day he starts! I can't stand that place anymore.

Jane - Great workout, girl! I copied that one too! :D

Came home after work and had to hunt down the rest of my ski gear for tomorrow since we'll have to be up at 4 or 4:30 a.m. to meet our friends at 6:30 in Smithfield. It'll be 3.5 hours to the resort. It's only going to hit 13 degrees up there tomorrow! I hope I can handle it! Stephen filled his flask with scotch to take with us. I have dates and almonds in baggies in my jacket pockets and Stephen whipped up some modified California rolls (vegan) for a snack. We're ready! All that to say, no workout. Well, I'll make up for it tomorrow! Skiing really really works the legs!

Have a great night! I'll drop in tomorrow night after we get home!

Tricia- I have one word for you: brrrrrr!!!

Jane- Thats a great looking workout!

I am about to go for a joggle, in about an hour. I just had some yogurt and need to let that digest first. But, finally, my rash is better. It didn't really make any sense, its not hot. Anywhoo, I anticipate that tomorrow will be a Cathe workout. I'm leaning towards LM.

Alisha

I'm down a pound :D I've been pretty good this past week and it is finally showing on the scale. I'm eating yogurt for breakfast (whole milk), having a big lunch, and eating mostly veggies and little coconut oil (for the thyroid) for dinner. Anywhoo, I'm set up for Low Max. I will be doing that in about an hour. I'm planning on a run tomorrow. My rash is improving. If thats not motivation to get some fat off me I don't know what would be:p

Catch ya later!

Alisha

Hi Alisha! Congrats on the loss! 1 lb. is 1 lb. and that's a great sign! Glad the rash is better! Enjoy your joggle!

We got in around 8:30 last night after leaving the house at 6 a.m. Was so exhausted and my legs were already sore by the time we got home! I took 2 Advil before going to bed which was the smart thing! We had a blast! It was darn cold, but that's why you layer and wear cold weather gear! The morning seemed warmer than the afternoon, but it also got really windy and by 3 p.m., my fingers were hurting, so I knew it was time to call it a day! The guys skied a bit longer. The ride home was cold! It didn't seem like our friends ran the heat very high in the car, but it could also have been that I was just chilled, too.

It was fun, but I really would have preferred it to have been at least 10 degrees warmer! lol

Obviously, I'm taking a rest day today. Still just so exhausted today.

Jane - Hope you're having a great weekend!

Sunday I ran/walked 9 miles. It was not a good run. I had to run in the afternoon because I had to take my car to the shop in the morning because the "service engine soon" light was on.

This morning I was up at 4:30 am to take my sister to the airport so I am already tired. I am going to workout tonight but I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

Alisha ~ Congrats on the pound lost. That is fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Tricia ~ Your ski trip sounds like fun. I haven't gone in about 30 years but I was never very good at it. I always ended up in the bar! You got a great workout in though.

Have a great day!

I will do some yoga with Gary Bromley this evening before bed. I was too tired to do it this morning. I will be working on organizing data all day. I've been getting boxes emptied and throwing them out. Organize, work, work, organize, work, work. Its like the little engine that could, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can." Tomorrow will be another Cathe step workout, I don't know which one yet.

Jane-I think that the weekends are like those little rest breaks that Cathe gives us in the Imaxes, so short!

Tricia- That sounds like a fun trip!

Alisha

Here is tonight's workout:

Warm-up - Run around the block.

Max number of Rounds in 30 minutes
10 KB Swings, Right
10 KB Cleans, Right
10 KB Racked Squats, Right

200m Run

Happy Monday ladies! I'm off today for the holiday.

Jane - At least you're getting it done! I hate getting up early! I'm not a great skier either, but it's because I don't get to go much - it's expensive! I thought I would end up at the bar! I made sure I knew where it was! lol

Alisha - Work, work! (as Cathe would say) Sounds like you're making some good progress there! Enjoy yoga tonight!

Stephen's back to school tomorrow and my new workout schedule starts. Keep your fingers crossed that this works for me!

I never did that yoga yesterday. I'm planning on the cardio premix for LIC the original one, not the one from the LIS series. I will probably get to that one in the afternoon. This morning we have to take my Mom's car to the shop. We don't know whats wrong, but it appears to be leaking oil. After that its time for other errands. I am all dressed and ready to go. Tomorrow will be a 4 mile jog and Harry Potter book club in the evening.

Tricia-Skiing is super expensive! I am officially crossing my fingers!

Jane- That looks like a great workout!

Alisha
