Jogglers February 2014

TGIF!!

Yesterday I did a kettlebell circuit. It was short but brutal. Tonight will be some sort of running workout. We had a big storm at my house this morning although I had already left. My sister who works nearby told me about it and I made her go and make sure that my house didn't have a tree sticking out of it. It was fine but she said we have tons of limbs down. We might make a workout of running and picking up sticks. Our power was out for a while but I just called a little while ago and it was working. Apparently there is an area that was harder hit than us a couple blocks away and it might be another day or so before they get their power back. We were very lucky!

Alisha ~ So happy to hear about your mom. Sorry about the doctor. My mom had a terrible experience with the neurologist. I won't go into it but it he was horrible in terms but telling her all these horrible things but then not explaining anything...just referring her to other doctors. So she is going back to her primary physician to talk to him.

I'm sorry about your fever dreams. They can be so scary!

Tricia ~ I hope your PT goes well. Mom's PT is really helping her. She is stronger and can do more things.

Hi ladies!

Sunday, Sunday . . . I have to get up early for PT tomorrow! What was I thinking??? You know how much of a morning person I'm NOT!

Alisha - I'm glad your mom's surgery went okay, but dang! I don't understand the doc not coming out and talking to you after. I've never had that happen.

Sorry about the fever dreams! I've never had those, but I've had my share of really bad dreams! That is scary! Hope you don't get any more of those! Eastern food is notorious for sudden weight gain! Hope that goes away quickly!

Jane - I'm glad your house was okay after that storm! Yay for your mom! PT can work wonders!

Yeah, I know I hurt my shoulder somehow, I just have no idea how! Oh, well. At least I'm getting it worked on and it should be better soon! It's already a lot better just from icing and taking the Ibuprofen. I'm hoping that is reducing inflammation and not just masking the pain. It still will throb occasionally. Glad I have a week off now! That should give me time to make some real progress!

I'm going to just do 3 days cardio and 3 days yoga this week, adding in some core and do my PT exercises. I made it through Meso 1! Woo-Hoo!

It's been nice and warm here in the 50s for the last few days. Getting some decent snow melt, but it's not all gone. We're dropping back down this week and getting another one of those horrible polar vortex dips again! Not looking forward to that! More snow this week, but, hopefully, not enough to have to shovel! I'm so done with snow! You'd never know the first day of spring is only 4 weeks away! :(

Have a great afternoon ladies and great week!

Mom took a tumble on the front porch and went head first into the front door. She dented the door. Thank goodness the door is wood and the cat has been assiduously scratching that spot, making it soft, for the last 8 years every time she wanted to come inside. I took her to the ER we got a cat scan and had her leg X-rayed. She is fine:eek: Not a break on her. The leg is somewhat swollen, she is icing it, and was told to take tylenol for the pain.

I did get a hike in this morning before all the excitement. I plan to exercise tomorrow.

Those weird 3 lbs seem to have gone away. I guess it was sodium, but it just felt awful anyway.

Tricia- I didn't know about eastern food doing that, I will remember from now on. I'm glad your shoulder is getting better, I hope its healed soon. I would share our weather if I could, today was 70 deg!

Jane- Enjoy your run, I hope the power stays on for you. I hope things are ok for your Mom and that her doctor can really help clear things up for her.

Good Morning!

I missed a couple of days. Saturday was a rest day. Sunday was supposed to be a 11 mile run but it started storming so we only got in 6 miles. Yesterday I did a running workout mixed in with some abs, push ups and presses.

We did have part of a tree fall in our yard but it didn't hit anything but it is quite large so we need to get the tree guy out and take out the limb and the tree plus we do have other trees that we want him to remove.

Yesterday I had to take mom to an emergency doctor's appt. She had one today but her PT was concerned about a rash on her leg thinking it could be an infection but it wasn't. My sister told me that it has spread to her calf but it hadn't. It looked the same as it did on Saturday so there was no need for alarm. The doctor wanted mom to see a dermatologist but my mom said no more doctor appointments so he gave her a prescription for a cream. He also cleared up some issues that the neurologist told her that made her feel better. Mom is doing so much better. The PT has done wonders and even her neuropathy is abating some. She has been working regularly and feels really good.

Alisha ~ Glad you mom is doing well after her tumble. I hope you got a workout in yesterday. Yippee for losing those 3 pounds.

Tricia ~ So glad the PT is working.
