Tricia ~ You are allowed to be exhausted and take a rest day. You are so kind to help out that woman. I remember doing that a couple of times when I was a cashier. Once I was working at K-mart and a little boy came in to pay for a pair of shoes except he didn't have enough money. I told him that I would take care of it. He was embarrassed but it wasn't that much money.

It is warm here but we are suppose to get rain this weekend. I have a 5K race planned for Saturday morning and they are calling for a 100% rain chance. I just checked the hourly forecast and it looks like we might get the race in. There is rain up until the race and then it goes down to 10% so hopefully that will hold.

Yesterday, I did 45 minutes of yoga. I plan to go for a hike today. I will exercise tomorrow.

Mom and I might go to a second run theater to see Skyfall. She hasn't seen it yet and we do love James Bear, I mean James Bond.:p
 
My weekend plans are up in the air. I am supposed to do a 5K race tomorrow but they are predicting 80% chance of rain. We have to drive over a hour to get there so we may not go if the weather is bad. So I'm not sure if I am working out tonight but either way I will workout tomorrow.

Jane - I saw the storm heading your way and that's a lot of rain! I hope you get lucky and can run your race!

Alisha - Glad you've gotten a little youga and some hiking in! We have Skyfall, but haven't watched it yet. Funny, I'm an old school bond girl! I do like some of the newer ones, but Danny Boy doesn't do anything for me. Enjoy the movie! I've heard nothing but good reviews so I'm looking forward to it also! No spoilers!

Stephen actually made it home by around 3:00 today! He was home long before me so I got to come home to an already warm house! Yay!

Hoping all we get is rain this weekend too! I'm dreading more snow! Fingers crossed!

No workout today either. I'll pick it back up tomorrow!

Happy Rainy Sunday Morning!

Yay for no snow - so far! It's going to be a miserable week though. Rain and snow showers for most of it, so it's going to make for some miserable runs! I must get going! I'm never going to be ready!

Found some shoes yesterday! Sigh and whew! 3 pairs at Famous Footwear. No BOGO, but I made out with those 3 for less than what one pair at Zappos was going to cost! Can't beat that! I got a pair of brown loafers (like the traditional penny loafers). Are you supposed to put one penny or two in those? Anyone remember? Also got a pair of suede black ankle boots that are really cute. They lace up and have a plaid panel around the middle. They have a heel, but a wide toebox, so they felt really comfortable. I'm going to have to get used to wearing heels again I'm afraid. They just aren't making really cute flats anymore. I did get a pair of ballerina style flats that are cloth. They are light blue and beige and look very sailor-ish. Cute! So, still need my black Mary Janes! None of what they had was very nice. There's a pair on Zappos that I like that are only $50, but I'm going to wait and see.

That wore me out! We also looked at couches. Stephen now wants a regular couch because his mother's coming in May. I don't really want to spend the $1,000+, but he's determined. Sigh. I'd rather have something on the house fixed, but, oh well. Whatever.

Didn't work out yesterday due to all the shopping. It took longer than I thought and it pushed my time too late. Hopefully today. I really want to get Supercuts done! Everyone raves about it. 46 minutes and total body! Love the idea of a short workout that's full body!

We shall see!

I went for a hike yesterday. I am digging up an oldie, the Original Step Reebok tape, then 20 min. of Kathy Smith's Timesaver Cardio. I plan to do some yoga this evening before bed. I will go for a hike tomorrow.

Tricia- yeah, I'm not real thrilled with the current Bond. He doesn't really do it for me either, but Skyfall is a really good movie anyway. You will enjoy it. I don't like to workout after a long day of shopping. I wonder if a couch is the right way to go. Is your MIL planning on sleeping on it? Or does Stephen just want the place to look nice? She may not want to sleep on a couch, it might not be good for her back. I guess a daybed would not work?

Did you do Supercuts?

Jane- Did you get to your race? Did it rain out?

Alisha - We're planning on putting the tatami bed upstairs for sleeping and having a traditional couch in the living room. He explained that we don't have a spare bedroom or a real bed, but she insists on staying here. Ugh. I told Stephen if she plans on bitching about it, I will tell her to go to a hotel! She is not going to be rude in my house about the way we live and our furniture! We do the best we can here under the circumstances and it's not like a lot of people have been flocking to visit us in the 10 years we've lived up here, so we haven't felt it necessary to outfit a whole guest room. You know?

I did not do Supercuts yesterday. Hoping to hit later today.

Enjoy Step Reebok! I remember that one so well!

Happy Rainy Monday!

I'm not sure if the race happened but we did not go. I got up and looked at the radar and went back to bed. I did not want to drive that far to have the race canceled. I worked out anyway and then went shopping and took mom to her massage appointment. Then my sister came over and we watched a movie.

Sunday I ran 9 miles and did stuff around the house. My house is so dirty so at least I got something accomplished.

Tonight will be an indoor weight workout. It's raining again. We got 6 inches from Friday and Saturday and it started raining last night so I'm sure we got another couple of inches at least and it's not done yet.

Tricia ~ Yes I remember penny loafers. LOL! When my dad was sick my sister wanted my mom to buy a sleeper sofa for their spare room. The currently have a futon which is not bad to sleep on. I did when we had to take care of dad. She thought a sleeper sofa down here was $200...uh no..they are more than that. Seriously my BIL makes good money. They can't stay in a hotel? Really? I would rather stay in a hotel that with people because it's better all the way around. I need my space. I stayed with my sister once and I was afraid to touch anything. She had all these rules.

I'm going for a hike later today. I will do a step workout tomorrow. Its so funny I get into little pockets of time where all I want to do is step or kickbox or yoga. Right now, its step. The funny part is, once I start a workout, I like it just fine. I think its just all in my head and not out here in the real world. I think this makes me 'Mental' like Ron in Harry Potter is always saying.:p

Its was sunny and now its cloudy. Bleh.

Jane- I hate it when the house is a mess. Good job on your 9 mile run.

Tricia- They can stay in a hotel. Thats ridiculous. Phooey. Everybody needs a break from each other. I hope you got to Supercuts. I don't have any of this newest series, I'm too poor right now:eek:

Last night I did a total of 280 weighted squat - 7 rounds of 10 reps of 4 different squats. Then did 3 sets of 12 each of Russian Twists, Pullover sit ups and sit up and reach. Then my sister and I went outside and did farmers walk around the block with 2-18# kettlebells.

I am taking a rest day today.

The rain finally stopped this morning. Between Sunday and Monday at 5:30 we got 4 inches of rain. Can't wait to see how much we got last night and this morning. When I left for work this morning my backyard was flooded. The sunny is out so hopefully we will dry out in the next day or so.

Alisha ~ Hope you enjoyed your hike yesterday and have a great step workout today. I get "mental" like that too on some things.

I took yesterday as a rest day. I did a step workout on Monday. Today is a rest day because our plumbing is turned off. The plumber is coming in an hour or two. I won't workout without the ability to shower or use the restroom. I hope that its back on tomorrow. Its so nice outside. It is sunny and 70 degrees today!!!:D:D:D

Jane- Remind me, whats a farmers walk?

I am going for a 3 mile run tonight. My legs are still sore from Monday's workout but they feel better when I get up and walk around. Temps are in the 60's here but it is supposed to be a tad cooler on the weekend and then warm up again next week (hopefully for good).

Alisha ~ I wouldn't workout without a shower either. Yikes! A farmers walk is when you take 2-kettlebells or dumbbells and carry them on either side of your body. It's like carrying a bucket of water in each hand at the same time. It's a great isometric exercise and works the entire body.

Hi ladies!

Jane - Sorry about the race, but better to stay home than risk going all that way for nothing! You could stay with me! No rules! You can do as you please in my house so long as it's not illegal! It's just that I know she's going to have all kinds of things to say about all the stuff that needs to be fixed, where she has to sleep, etc. I will leave and stay in a hotel if she starts that crap! I'm hoping it won't be so bad.

Hey, that workout had a LOT of squats!

Alisha - Hope you had a nice hike! I know what you mean about it being all in your head! Happens to me all the time! lol

No outdoor stuff for me this week! Too much rain! I have yet to do Supercuts, but I did All Out HIIT 1 section and a tabata and core yesterday. That was fun! I did XT Burn Sets CBS tonight. I'm reluctantly got on the scale this morning. Weight is starting to slowly come down. I'm back down to 146.6. Hope it keeps going! I don't care how slowly it goes down as long as that's the direction it keeps going! I can't believe how clean I'm having to be with my food now in order to make any progress! It's going to get quite frustrating! That's part of why I really want to get my running back in gear and get further with my distances than I was before. My max was 8 miles and I did 10 once, barely! I just know that I burn calories much better when I run.

Still, no showers. The plumber is supposed to come today and fix it. He came yesterday and gave us an estimate. I hope to be able to shower this evening, thank goodness for baby wipes!! I plan to do some yoga. I hope to go for a hie tomorrow.

I didn't feel very well last night. My GI tract is just not thrilled right now. I'm mostly on liquids. Everytime I try something else, it tastes fine, but I'm real sorry later. I tolerate orange smoothies, broth, coconut milk, and tart cherry juice. I have had a bit of a bug and I'm just super tired.

Tricia- I completely commiserate, I have to eat super clean to just not gain!!!
Great job on your workout. I also burn more calories when I run too. I hope your MIL behaves herself.

Jane-I also do a little better if I walk around after a tough leg workout.

I am doing the following workout tonight. The sun is out but it could be a tad warmer in my opinion.

Bosu Jumps w/weight
Ball Slams
Weighted Squats
Walking Lunges (each leg)

Tricia ~ I didn't mean I wouldn't stay with you. :eek: Sometimes family can be more difficult than friends, if you know what I mean. I would be embarrassed to have anyone stay at my house. It's not bad but it needs work. Both bathrooms have to be completely gutted and redone and the kitchen floor is some cheap vinyl crap that I have to clean every day (well I just think about cleaning it every day. I don't have time to do that). She should be grateful that you are extending the offer.

It's really hard for me to lose right now. I eat practically nothing. I don't really have anything else to cut out except cheese and I'm not really eating that much of it right now anyway. I'll have to tell you, when I came back from Myrtle Beach I weighed myself the Monday after we got back at mom's house. I put on 4.5 pounds and that was with running a 1/2 marathon (I don't weigh myself every day so I was going with my last known amount). So last Saturday when I was at her house I weighed myself again because I was waiting for her to get ready and I lost 5 pounds - from Monday to mid morning on Saturday just by going back to my regular eating. I was shocked I lost that much but I really don't eat that much at all. I even cut out my pre-workout snack that I had at 5pm before my workout. I was going to blame it on menopause but since Alisha is having the same problem I guess it's just the way it is.

Alisha ~ I'm sorry you don't have a shower yet and that you aren't feeling well. Hope you feel better soon. I hope the shower gets fixed today.
