January at the gym

I have been trying to avoid if it possible - but might be making an appearance there tonight - ugh.... Not looking forward to it!!

LOL .. I know .. I feel your pain ..

no parking places ..classes are packed - the regulars get booted from "thier spot" .. and inside waiting for machines ...dressing room mahem!

I know .... I know .. LOL

I think the "regulars" should have a special pass to bump people .. LOl .}( ... just kidding!!!

For this very reason I do not darken the doors of my gym until February. Usually the madness has died down a bit by then. I am fortunate to have a nice home gym that enables me to do this though.:)

EWWWWW - I remember dreading the January bunch. I especially disliked that my group exercise classes had to be dumbed down for a month or so. I am so glad that I discovered Cathe.

LAURAMAX!!!

I just saw your pictures of Minnie mouser... She seems to fitting in quite nicely and the dogs are enjoying her...the pictures made me smile!!! Amber

OMG...I remember my instructor days. In January so many people showed up for the step classes that fights would break out over steps and risers. Adults would actually strike one another with them. Managers would have to physically remove members from the premises. This was an upscale gym. Geez. I DO NOT miss "January at the Gym".

OMG, I am ROFLMAO at this picture!!!! Sheesh!

It is realy bad right now. I have been getting to the gym as late as I can at 7:30 pm (it closes at 9 pm) and sometimes I still have to wait to get on a bike. In December, no one was even on the bikes at this time of night.

I found that evenings really feel the swell of January members, but at 6:00 in the morning, it's still mostly the regulars. You may want to consider morning workouts for a little bit.

Now how did I know, when I saw the thread title, that you would be the author, and it would be a rant about said gym? ;-) (I remember the same complaint last year...that's how!).

Maybe it would be a good idea to use January as 'at-home-workouts' time? If you plan it, you can set up a rotation that will keep you in shape until all the new-year's-resolution drop-outs stop going (about the third week in January, wouldn't you say? LOL!)

I can only imagine what a pain it is this time of year (and I only WANT to imagine, and not experience it!)
