Good morning ladies..

Getting us started with a quick hello post. I have an early morning appointment for the kids to see the orthodontist. Chris is having an evaluation and Lauren is still being watched from her previous treatment..We are also going to pop into the library on the way home on this afternoon the kids have PE class. So, busy day...

Ok, workout today for me is going to be to give the MMA Boxing a try..I have some nice DOMS this morning from PUB....

Be back later..

Good morning Kathy! Girls!

I'm so not motivated today. Nothing comes to mind that I really feel like doing for cardio. Would it be horrible if I just did a good stretch? Considering I might "just stretch" on Saturday too?

Kathy: Sounds like a busy day. At least the MMA Boxing is nice and short. I personally LOVED it. (My favorite SC so far!) I didn't do the bonus bag workout though. I dont' have the bag. But I read where some did it without the bag and got a good workout anyways (for a 20 minute bonus).

I still have to take down the Christmas tree today. I dread putting all the little ornaments away nice in their boxes. that kind of work irritates me (NO patience).

I really wanted to take the boys to see Avatar today. I really wanted to see Avatar today! Come to find out, they're not really wanting to see it, and the show times were not good for a school week night (but the only night we could all go together with Greg's work hours). So instead they said they wanted to see the Chipmunk Movie. ... I thought about it, and decided I didn't want to see the Chipmunk Movie AND didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for the Chipmunk Movie. The boys were all disappointed this mornign when i told them. Do you think I should suck it up and bring them? Was that totally mean of me? Help! I'm having "mommy guilt"! LOL!

What to do, what to do... workout-wise AND movie-wise.

Good morning! Hey Kathy, I did MMA boxing today -- I liked it! I'm not sure I'd call it a favorite yet, but maybe. I had two crazy thoughts during it.... first, I wondered if Jai is at home doing it in the early morning dark hours because maybe the reason she's not in it is because she's just too busy and now she has to work out at home. I imagined her waiting patiently for her pre-order (yeah, right!). :D I really miss Jai in these. Second, when I was doing the circle circle 8, I imagined Chris in her scrubs doing those at the hospital while waiting for patient action (no! not that kind of action!), since you said you could do it all day. I really liked that last combo!!

Chris, maybe your workout today should be OrnamentsAwayMax + stretch. Some days you just need a break, you know? I have already decided I'm going to do a stretch tomorrow even though I had a couple of days off over the weekend, because I'm starting the new rotation Friday. Rest days are good sometimes.

As for the movie.... I think the no Avatar decision is wise -- especially on a school night (did you see it's almost three hours long?!). As for Alvin.... would you get matinee pricing? It's ok, but not really something that needs to be seen in the theater. Any way you could rent some movie they haven't seen for this afternoon, to still give them some movie but not spend as much? It is crazy how much it costs!!

Well, Travis made the team! It was strange waiting to find out. She seemed to talk to them and then they all disappeared outside. It was to go get jerseys. I followed them out, and when I didn't see Travis waiting for me, I knew it was a good sign. We then had to go back to town to get him some new shoes because his heel really hurts after practice. I got him two new pairs -- one for bball and one for just walking around/running around. Got Dylan a new pair, got some workout wear on sale for me, but then we didn't get home until after 6:00! Crazy day. I was supposed to clean my house but no time for that.... it'll have to happen today -- it's driving me nuts!!! Oh, in the end, they didn't cut anyone from the team. I think one boy self-selected himself off by not showing up this week, and I guess they decided that was enough, or maybe they decided they didn't have the heart to cut only one. Did I tell you guys that it's a high school gal coaching? That's some responsibility! The really odd thing is that she had a friend helping her with the evaluation of the try-outs, and that gal was the sister of one of the 5th graders! I thought that was really bad form!!

Ok, on to start my day...... oh, that article on the great in 8 made it hard to see how to use dvds for the workouts, but there were some threads where people plugged in workouts they were going to do, and I found that thread much more useful. I may try it. I'm going to start out with meso 2 on Friday, and theoretically I'd be in a superset this week. Meso 2 is not a superset, so I'm already tweaking it, but I may try to follow along -- they add in quite a bit of cardio, and I'm not sure I'll have time for extra cardio, but I'm going to do what I can -- have to look good for the RT! ;) But seriously, I'm fired up to clean up the eating and all, and I think this focus helps it all come together.

Have a great day! Hottie, how are you feeling? Hellooooo Joanne.... I will try to find you on fb and you can try to find me..... :)

So I figured I needed to warm up to do a stretch anyhow, so I ended up doing IMAX 3 !!!:eek::eek:

Gotcha! ... I didn't do the whole thing, I did the Step Only Premix... VERY low intensity here. Did I fool ya? did ya think I was crazy?

And then I added on Stretch Max, Seg #1. Felt good! I'm looking forward to my meditation (aka little nap??) later! ;)

Beth: WOO HOO!!! MMA: BOXING *IS* so fun, isn't it? I bet it *IS* your favorite!!!! You just don't know it yet. ;) OMG, aren't those jump ropes fun? I could do them at work, you're right. Maybe I will! Actually, I'm sooo conservative with my energy at work, i don't even take the stairs. I just get SOOO fatigued from the lack of sleep. Maybe it would be better to insert random bouts of cardio though!?!?! .... Thanks for the info on the movie. I was feeling so guilty. I think I will go to BB and get Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs for them to watch. And then if Zach isn't amused by that, we'll watch the new Star Trek movie and Jake can watch Meatballs downstairs. They LOVE the popcorn I make, and I'll buy them movie snacks too. I'm excited! They probably won't want to, knowing my boys! LOL!. .... YAY for Travis! What a crazy rig-a-marow with them saying kids would be cut, and then they didn't. Geesh! Oh ya, this is the team with the girl as coach. Should be interesting. ... Funny about the sneakers, I was just reading the article in Sunday's Parade Magazine about barefoot running, and how sneakers really cause the running injuries that runners get. Maybe you could send him to practice barefoot? That should go over well! ... I know, I need to get moving too, the tree awaits !!!!

::grumble:: at work earlyish. Went to bed super cranky -- Joe managed to really set me off right as we were trying to go to bed. We didn't fight but I was "quietly livid" if that makes any sense. I sorta wished I had fought so I could have gotten some venting out instead of trying to sleep angry. woke up exhausted and yep, it's TOM. I didn't even try to work out. I brought my gym bag with me with the hope as futz around I'll have more energy and get something light done at the gym. I really hope this weird feeling is all hormonally related...like the bloating I know...but the fatigue, the fat feeling, the fatigue...:) The great in 8 thing sounds good but I really have to sit down with it to think about it. I don't even want to think about high intensity until I can shake off the fatigue! But it would be nice to get psyched. I think I need that right now.

Kathy -- enjoy that MMA boxing! If I weren't so tired I was thinking about a KB workout as well.

Chris -- I'm sure you have way more Xmas decorations than me. I think all of our Xmas stuff holds in one of those rubbermaid tote boxes and it was a real tree that was about 2.5 feet high so I could just chuck it in the yard waste. I imagine people with real sized trees and a lot of decorations have a much harder time. I still have to put away the lights because Joe hasn't gotten around to doing it. Good for you on IM3 step. I like the step routines a lot actually in that workout! I hope that movie plans work out for you...I'm so cheap about going to the movies that I don't think we've gone to one in almost two years!

Beth -- yay for Travis! You already look fine for the RT -- I doubt you have that extra memory foam padding I have around my midsection. I'm sad there's no Jai too. I would have rathered her and no men. I wish I could get home before 6p on a regular basis. It was sort of funny -- our 80 year old neighbor had remarked that Joe and i worked long hours and we both were like...no, it's standard (8.5-9hrs at work and another 45-90 minutes of commute)...I miss having a ten minute commute sometimes. But eh! Makes me look forward to spending time with Evee even more.

Despite my lack of energy and inclination to futz on the Intertubes, I think I'm going to try and install Windows 7 on this machine so we'll see if I ever come back online today...

Nope, installation is going to have to wait. I have to go find setup files and keys for Office and Photoshop since I can't do an upgrade but have to do a clean install instead. (You know, Beth, I have everything partitioned -- one partition dedicated to the OS, one to docs, one to programs, one scratch, and one recovery partition -- will the clean install kill my partitions and thus my data? ugh, not going to risk it but just curious.) Off to futz on the intertubes until I move around for the next experiment. though I made an effective LCD cleaning solution because I had the organic solvents in lab. I brought a pillow and blankets in my car...i'm seriously debating about going back to sleep in the car -- that's how tired I am!

Hi ladies!! Still sticking with Jillian - Shred 1 and 2 today. I was dying by the end of 2.

Chris, you are too funny. Going from just a stretch to Imax3!! Just the step sounds like a good compromise. Sounds like a plan for the movie. Hope the kids like it! Avatar is really long for a school night and the Chipmunks would definitely be a wait for DVD movie. I took down our tree over the weekend. We have a real one - what a pain!! DH likes to wrap the trunk with lights - it's a PITA to get them off. I felt like I should be married to the da** tree by the time I got them all off. ;) The floor was covered in needles by the time I was done. But now it's out on the curb waiting to be picked up, so all is good.

Kathy, ugh, the orthodontist! Ian finished his treatment, now the ortho says he is ready for "touch-up" braces. Umm, no, I think we'll wait - they look just fine to me! At least until we are done paying for the ones Jameson has on his teeth! Have fun with MMA Boxing - loved that one!

Beth, I've seen the great in 8 rotation and it looked good. But, I could never figure out how to do it with DVDs. That's great Travis made the team, but kind of crappy that they made the kids worry like that. I did find you on Facebook (through Chris!), but am not supposed to use it at work - so I'll "friend" you tonight. :)

Hottie, oh yes, I'm very familiar with the "quietly livid" feeling!! Hope you are feeling better - have you tried any of the MMA workouts? MMA Boxing might be good for you now - lots of punching to get out frustrations! MMA Kickboxing isn't real intense but you'd still get a workout in and maybe feel better. I hope the Windows 7 install goes well - otherwise we probably won't "see" you again today.

Well, good news and bad news. The pipes are fixed. There's a big hole in the wall, but we'll deal with that later. Bad news - Jameson's thumb is broken. I feel so bad for not taking him sooner. He had a xray and it's fractured near the base. They said it doesn't look bad - he should just be able to get a cast. He has a brace on it now until Thursday when he goes to see the hand specialist. Not sure if he'll be able to play soccer or not.

BBL...

Joanne

HI ladies..

I did MMA boxing..I did like it. More intensity then kickboxing. Great workout. I was going to add on the heavy bag and do it without the bag. But, ran out of time for that..

Joanne: Yes, Lauren is having a "touch up" as you put it with another procedure and Chris has a crossbite and needs an appliance as he put it to fix his bite...He is a gagger. So, this will not be a pleasant experience! Poor Jameson. Luckily we have not experienced broken bones yet. Hope he feels better soon..

Hottie: I get that livid with Vic sometimes. But, I try not to voice my rage too often. Vic is a talker and would keep me up all not to get his "point" across. Hope you are feeling better soon. Hate that TOM yucky feeling. Good luck with the installation. We keep wanting to get rid of Vista and upgrade.

Chris: Way to go on Imax 3. That is great since you didn't feel up to anything. Did you decide on a movie? We tend to wait since it costs so much to go to the theatre.

Beth: I miss seeing Jai in the workouts too. She has great form and great muscle developement in her upper body...I liked the boxing too. But, the step workouts are still my favorites...

OMG, Joanne, the thumb! Oh, poor Jameson, but poor you, too. I can imagine the guilt...... but try not to sweat it. Imagine raising him long ago with no x-rays available..... I figured you would find me through Chris, or I would find you that way.....

speaking of fb..... I got a friend request from one of Travis' preschool friends! He has the same name as his father, so I was about to click confirm but realized the picture was the son. No way am I friending a 10 year old!!! In fact, another friend who got the same request closed her account because of this!! Isn't that crazy?! A third friend (all from the preschool) asked "is that legal?" (a ten year old having a fb account).

Kathy, are we married to the same chatty husband? I knew exactly what you meant about then being up all night trying to get your point across! ;)

Chris, way to go on IMAX 3 -- whoo-hoo! Bet you felt so good when you were done. I have to remember that step only premix. With this great in 8 rotation, the add-on cardios are sometimes short and meant to be less intense, so I have to add in some of those premixes!

Joanne, did you see the thread about Jillian? I just looked at what the first poster said, but it sounded like she looked great and told Jay Leno it was all about diet, not working out. Hmmmmmm.....

Ok, I'm on a tight timeframe here.... not sure I'll be back later with the bball game today and cleaning on tap! (I just got home from errands!). Hottie, I don't know nothing about birthin' no babies -- er, I mean setting up microsoft filesystems, but if you have a general question about how to organize for backups or whatever, ask away.....

Beth, it's crazy....most of Jameson's friends have Facebook pages, but he's 13. I let him have one about six months ago after he kept asking cause "all my friends have one". I monitor everything he does on there. Ian also has one - he's 12. I just let him put it up a couple months ago. The deal was that I had to be one of their friends and have their logins and passwords. You'd be surprised how many 10 year olds have them. Colin is 10 and a bunch of his classmates have them. This is what I think is weird - some of the moms at school have sent Jameson and Ian friend requests. Why would you want to friend a 12 or 13 year old? Colin hasn't asked for one and I wouldn't let him have one now. I think it's kind of taking the place of instant messaging for kids. I did see that thread about Jillian. OK, so why does she torture those poor Biggest Loser people?? But, I do see her point and she's probably right. Eating is probably 80-90% of the equation and it's what I'm the worst at!

Kathy, both Jameson and Ian had those appliances. Not fun to get fitted for...Ian had a problem with it, but Jameson did better. Ian had something he had to wear to bed every night - that's probably what Chris is getting? I think they called it "head gear" or something. This is our second broken bone for the kids - Caitlyn broke her leg just before she turned two.

So I STARTED taking down some of the ornaments off the tree ;)

Beth: Thanks for your suggestion! After reading your post, I went out and rented movies (Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and The Hangover for Greg and me after they go to bed!!) and then got stuff at the store for MEXICAN NIGHT! I'm going to make them chicken quesadillas & nachos and for me and Greg, chili. ... Oddly enough , when they got home, it seemed they didn't even remember the movie promise. LOL!

Hottie: My boys were so in love with their little lighted Christmas tree in their room, I bought them a string of Christmas lights to hang in there after the tree (they're blue and white). I got them for clearance, under $4! So I say, leave up the lights! Sorry you feel shitty. maybe a MMA like Joanne said, if you feel up to it. That bloated fatigued feeling is crippling sometimes though!

Joanne: I was looking at the Jillian workouts today when I was contemplating! I've never done Shred. Is that the one where there are 3 , 20 minute segments? Maybe I'll pick one up tomorrow....?!?! ... LOL @ you married to the Christmas tree! It is a PIA!! At least ours is fake and won't burst into flames if I leave it up! (Greg ALWAYS has taken it down in the past, and I guess I'm waiting for him to step up and help me! Grrr!)... YAY for the fixed pipes, :( for Jameson's thumb! Kids are hard to tell, really. Don't even worry about it. At least you didn't tell him NO, You're NOT going to the doctors, right? He gets a cast? Is he excited?

Kathy: Isn't Boxing fun? Good workout! I've been putting off getting Zach to an orthodentist. He also needs braces, as will Alex and Jake I'm sure! They gave me the referrel in November, and I was waiting til "after the holidays" . Guess that's here! expensive stuff!

Beth: OMG, I would never befriend a KID. Although I do have Zach on my friend's list, so *I* can see what *he's* saying, but I forget sometimes he can see what *I'M* saying (I don't think I post anything too risky... Do I beth? LOL!). ... Yep, the step premix from IM3 was pretty good! Although a FEW times I felt like I should be JUMPING. ... And YES, I saw Jillian on Jay Leno last night too,. She looked PHENOMENAL! And she did say she only worked out like 3 hours a week. And it was ALL in the eating. Crap! I'm pretty much sunk! LOL!!!! But maybe that can give me a little more insentive?!?! Maybe? Hopefully???

Better go and start my Mexican cooking.....
