Good morning ladies..

Still feeling some chest and tricep DOMS. Today I am going to do Gym Style Legs for my workout...

Today is our library day. so, we will be doing that after my workout this afternoon..

Now back to school lessons!!

Good Morning, Kathy! Everyone!

I'm beat today. What day this week have I not said that? What's wrong with me? My cold symptoms have disappeared, so it's not that. Who knows...

Greg was off last night, so we're going to head out to Sears to see what we can find for a dishwasher. They have 15% off Kenmores this week. And we're hoping if he opens a Sears charge we'll get some good deals too.

Planned workout is MMA: Boxing! Yay! Plus I'll do some abs, maybe SJP abs. Won't do it until after our shopping though. Got a bunch of stuff to do today., My turn to take Zach on his paper route. Plus we have to change his needles today. He HATES the sensor needle, HATES it , and it's been a huge scene the last 2 times we did it. So i'm not looking forward to it. PLUS, Greg changed the first 2, and I'm supposed to do today's. I'm anxious ! After supper we're heading to sign Zach up for baseball. I hope it works ok with his paper route, I'm a little leary, it's going to be craziness with the schedules clashing.

kathy: enjoy GS: legs today! It's a goodie! My legs mostly feel stiffness and a little DOMS. I kind of wished I'd skipped the calf work, because my calf is sore too, and it's my calf with the "issue".

Wake UP!!!!!

Good morning, girls! Kathy, have fun with GS legs. Isn't it funny how certain workouts bring strong memories? That one I always think about that one stretch where you cross your legs and bend forward -- it's so painful! Just the stretch!

Chris, sorry you're dragging..... good luck with the dishwasher shopping! And what a bummer about the new needle situation! It was supposed to be better! Is it possible to go back to the old way, or is that just the wrong thing to do? Good luck.

Today was a "rest" day for me, so I did another Ellen Studio workout -- I'm really liking those for easy days. Today I did Fusion Flow. The bummer is that I didn't feel super stretched out when I was done, but my body was moved in different ways and that felt good.

We are having internet woes here again, so I'll keep this short. Hottie, I hope it was a better night of sleep! So crazy that you fell asleep working out!!! Joanne, did you see the recipe?

cheers....

Beth, hmmmm, I was thinking yesterday - Beth didn't post her workout! I get to chatting so much here that I forget that we started as a check-in! But, that's a good thing! I have the new Tracie Long's (I really, really need to stop buying DVDs!) and so far I've only done the short cardio mix from Back Up, I think it was. I liked that. Thanks for the recipe - sounds a lot like the soup we used to get. DH should like it. Now, to just find the time to make it!

Chris, hope you find a dishwasher today. Oh, poor Zach (and you!). I can imagine it must be tough to have to do that for him and for you. I remember you posting about going for training for an insulin pump? Is that was he has now? How is it working out? Do you still have to check his sugar throughout the night?

Kathy, GS Legs seems to be a trend around here! I'm feeling chest and triceps DOMS too from the CTX weights. And biceps. Basically my whole upper body!

Today's workout was the first leg workout from STS Meso 1. Tough stuff. I'm thinking my legs will be feeling like my arms soon. I'm planning to go through all the STS Leg workouts, doing one each week.

Caitlyn woke up with a horrible nose bleed this morning. Scared me, but it stopped quick. I'm thinking it's probably from being so dry in the house. Ian has his first basketball game tonight. They're playing against their school. They split them into two teams, with most of the bigger, better players on the other team. So, this should be interesting.

Hottie, hope your doc appt. went OK and you got some sleep!

Have a good day all!

BBL...

Joanne

Good belated morning. I took Ambien last night and I slept a lot but as I mentioned before, I never wake up feeling fresh the way one does when they regularly get sleep. So, I woke up a bit before 6a but thought about staying in bed so I seduced Joe. It worked. So now both of us are either playing hookey or going into work in the afternoon (knowing us, the latter), but it's fun so far. Oh, only me with Cardio core - i'm too embarrassed to tell Cathe! I feel like i'm so screwed for SD!

I'm slowly ramping up here. Not sure what workout i'll do -- if I'll return to a Step mega mix from Shock cardio, do Circuit Blast, or try out one of those wicked MMA ones or just do Imax Extreme. Whatever it is, I need a pick me up (so i've been eyeing LIC as well). Good news though -- I've been doing to this thing where I pick up a heavish DB and I superset my bis and tris and I think it's been showing. It's basically my way of trying to keep my muscles up while doing so much more cardio. joe seemed to have noticed so it can't be all in my head!

Chris -- sorry I couldn't find you something on a dishwasher. But if you can do all that doubling up, that can add up to savings AND they have a 14 day price protection policy so if it drops in the next two weeks you can get your money back as well. Usually, no one knows how to do that and it takes a bit but you get your money. Sorry about the needle situation!

Beth -- have you figured out a high speed solution? We have Charter because the others can't give a reliable connection. I hate it, I hate paying for it, and I'm patiently waiting for U-verse except that Pasadena always has to be in the way of technological advanced because they're afraid with how everything looks. Geez! they can put the ugly box in my yard for faster/cheaper internet. Joe saw a truck saying Uverse in your neighborhood when we were walking Evee this weekend and he ran up to the guy say, seriously? and the dude was like, hell no. not in pasadena. gah.

Joanne- You know, if you need to withdraw from buying too many DVD snydrome, you could just put my address in the send field and you could still get your purchasing power on. ;)

speaking of which, if i were to get a bundle of KCM 30 min workouts, which one's would you suggest? i was talking to Jen from Advanced Workouts about it...

Joanne, that soup is pretty easy/quick to make -- try it! (that said, I lately have found myself thinking a lot about moms who work full time -- I really do not know how you do it because with all the basketball practices lately I find it so hard to keep up with anything -- our days are longer). Good luck with the basketball game -- we got creamed yesterday. The team outstretched us by at least a few inches, and they were much beefier as well, so our boys just didn't get close to the hoop enough.

Hottie, it's not the speed we're after -- we have a very high speed connection but the problem is.... it just doesn't work. Every day we have issues, it seems. So, we're willing to give up speed to get some reliability. We may just get a T1. What work out did end up doing? As for KCM's.... I like her plyo/athletic step combo, but with shock cardio just out you might not feel the need for more cardio. The body weight training one is good, though I've only ever done one half of it (standing).

Oh, and Kathy.... you asked about the download of Cathe's original workout -- I don't think I will bother because I can't get past those old outfits. I know, it's really silly of me, but I just can't. I know that I do not do some of the older workouts of hers that I already have because of that reason, so no reason to acquire more. Did you see those lace shorts?! :D

Still haven't worked out -- do you guys have speakeasy up there Beth? I had them years ago and their customer service was pretty decent (back then). They were the only ones where residential people could get T1s...

ugh, I think I need to go to the dentist...my mouth is hurting...

Beth, DH usually takes care of dinner since he works nights and is home during the day. I'm in charge of making up the menus and making sure we have everything and it's defrosted. Some nights we're missing one or two kids cause of practices, but they'll eat earlier or later. If I don't make a menu, it's much harder. I come home and there's no dinner and the first thing I hear from everyone is "I'm hungry - what's for dinner?" Maybe I'll try the soup this weekend. We have U-verse for both TV and internet - never have any problems. But, I doubt that they are in your area. Yea - the lace shorts are kind of funky.

Hottie, LOL - Joe will probably be nudging you at 6am regularly. ;) Sure, I'll put your name in the send to field - just send me your CC number!! I like pretty much all of the KCM workouts. One of my favorites is an older one - New You Coming. It's all weights, but gets your heart rate up, too. Her stepboxing is fun - but her cueing takes some getting used to. It might be a bit frustrating till you do it a few times. Her intensity is a notch below Cathe's, but that's a good thing sometimes. I'm not crazy about her kickboxing - that was probably the hardest to learn.

This day has FLOWN by. Holy cow!

I hate that it has too, makes the weekend closer. And greg's night/day off, pretty much over.

We did buy a dishwasher. The kicker, really, is the installation. It costs $270 for installation and removal of our old one. *!#$ers! Anyhow, we did save some money. We get a $50 rebate from our town for buying an energy star rated one. And I had a $75 rebate from the frig we got in the summer. And then Greg signed up for a CC and saved $15. And while we were shoppping, I see another girl taking little price tags, and putting them BEHIND the ones that were up. So I'm thinking, another sale is coming *Ding*Ding*! I asked our saleslady about it, and she said, yes, starting tomorrow there's 20% off of Energy star dishwashers. So she said she'd adjust it (our sale was 15% off). In the end, it will end up costing up around $550. I guess not horrible. But I got all anxious and panicky inside thinking about this, and then baseball fees, and Zach needing braces this year, and , of course, our decrease in income. I swear, I thought I might pass out in the iPhone store where Greg was looking at iTouch cases for $35!!!!!! I seriously had to leave an go sit down and put my head between my knees!!!

So that was my adventure. I came home, ate some cereal, and then did MMA: Boxing with the abs. It wasn't as "fun" as thefirst time, but I still liked it, and I'm still in love with the jump rope, crazy eights! My calf was a bit sore from yesterday .

Beth: Nice on the fusion today. Sorry you didn't feel stretched out though. AND sorry about your internet. I hate when we have computer and/or internet issues!! ... Zach CAN stop using the sensor, truthfully. But it benefits him SO much, I don't want to tell him that. The sensor helps with alarming for highs and lows (but it's usually like 10 points behind what his real blood sugar is). It's really saving him finger sticks (poking his finger for blood to check his sugar). He can look at the sensor and see what his blood sugar kind of is. So I have been getting up in the middle of the night, but just looking at his sensor, and not necessarily poking him.

Joanne: Oh those STS leg workouts are crazy! I bet you feel it tomorrow!... I know it's confusing. Zach has had the INSULIN pump for 5 yrs now. The new thing is a needle that goes under his skin (deeper actually) to measure his blood sugars, without poking him. It doesn't administer insulin. So he has 2 needles in him. It does suck.

Hottie: Sounds like a nice morning! I'm jealous! Hope you get in a fun workout. What's up with your tooth/teeth? ... Cool on the bicep/tricep supersets! I know, i always like looking at my "guns" in the mirror  LOL!!... I do really like KCM's Plyo/Step too, like Beth said. I think it's a good LITTLE break from Cathe too. I haven't done the other workout I got, which I cant' even remember now! (Which one did I get, Beth?)

nope, not downloading Cathe's original either. I watched the clip. OMG, did you see the guy in little white shorts in the background? *shudder*. I could watch it for laughs, but never actually DO it! LOL!!!

time for laundry and dinner planning/making...

You all are making me laugh with the references to Cathe's first DVD...

Beth: I know that white shorts and the hair at the beginning all loose. That workout is one that dates itself with the moves and clothes..

Ok, try to pop back in after I get dinner done!!!

Oh you guys make me laugh! I need more of this.

Chris, I think you go the body weight training one, didn't you? Oh, and remember that the plyo one really hits your abs! Cathe seems to have some of those hops in the HIIT workout, but she has three little ones instead of one big one.... I think the one big one really made my abs sore, so I modified HIIT for some of them. I am feeling my abs this week, but I've been trying to work them in different ways, so who knows.

Joanne, meant to mention that I think it's a cool idea to go through all of the STS leg work -- that's some good leg work!

Chris, congrats on the dishwasher purchase! It was a traumatic process, I know, and I'm sure you're glad to have it behind you! When will it be installed? Is Greg not into that kind of work?

The T1 line is pretty easy for us to get -- we have a friend -- our gardening friend -- who is in that line of work and he does our company connection for us. Since it uses phone lines, it's easy, I guess. I guess I don't actually know all the ins and outs. The funny thing is that my comcast question came up because we were thinking about putting in a redundant comcast line at work and they were going to throw in tv for us -- oh, never mind -- it's little details that will just be boring!! It was just funny listening to the guys try to deal with this poor young sales woman, and then Larry trying to get her to get comcast to wire to our house -- yeah right! -- not in this lifetime!!

Joanne, sounds like you're mostly pretty organized for dinners and that's got to be a huge piece of trying to bring sanity into a very full family life! Good for you. I'm not so organized, but trying to be better. Tonight's leftovers, and with late piano lessons, I decided that might be a good theme for Thursdays in general! ;)

Ok, gotta go heat 'em up! The leftovers, not Larry!

Hey guys -- I did a mish mosh of cardio in the end. Athletic Step with the first half of Travel Fit and only the combos of MMA Boxing. I decided to regenerate by making Joe make me risotto. Totally worth it. Not so excited about going back to work tomorrow...
