itunes/temporary internet files

Hello,
I am by no means a tech savy gal, so I thought I would ask you folks. I am trying to download itunes on my desktop at home. It was not working. I found out how to fix the exact problem I am having on itunes support. I have to delete my temporary internet files folder from the hard drive and then restart. Just wondering what will happen if I do this? I don't want to screw up my computer. THANKS!

Gloria,

You are safe to delete the folder contents. I do that to clear the browser cache from time to time, which if I understand correctly, helps the system run faster.

No problemo deleting the temp internet files - but have you saved your downloads to a folder other than the temp internet files?

I would check that first.
