Oh yeah, one more week and the kids are back in school!!!!! Actually,
one will go back this friday, and the other two start on Monday. Im doing the IMAX2 dance--hee hee.

I love my kids dearly, but I dont think I was meant to spend 24/7 with them (I work from home)- can anyone else relate??

Have a great week all
Jayne

Well Jayne, with THREE kids, you deserve some YOU time! Yes, I was doing a lil' jig myself when the kids would board the schoolbus while other mom's around me had tears in their eyes! I'd RUN for my coffee, workout or whatever! Now, my kids are 25 & 30 and let me tell you, it goes soooo quickly, so enjoy the hours they ARE with you!

I know what you ean Jayne. I have 2 boys that go back to school in 2 1/2 weeks, yahoo!! It is tough to do excerise when the kids are in your hear sometimes. When they are in school, I do my excerise as soon as they go. It is just me, Cathe and crew:)

Jayne,

I love my son to death but I can't WAIT until he goes back to school. He will be a sophomore in college and he goes back on Friday the 29th. I can't count the times I've had to say to him over the summer, "As long as you live in this house....," I think you get the point. I can't believe the independence and bullheadedness one year of living at college has done to my child ;( Oh well, I'll be crying a river when he leaves - I always do, and, I'll be the first one at the door when he comes home a weekend to give him a BIG kiss and hug! He's my buddy ;)

I have mixed feelings. It's nice to get my son back in school, but I'm a teacher and my vacation's over too! :(

Looking at it another way: I only have 1 more week before I have to go back to teaching! Not so much fun from this perspective!

I can't bear with the fact my daughter will be away at college next year...

We are SO Close.. I think it's because I'm a single Mom we do so much together - shopping, working out to cathe together, volunteering at an animal shelter, working with kids at church.... It's a year away and I'm sooo sad already.... We just made an appt to get our hair done at the same time this week.

I guess that's the down side of being so close with your kids. THis weekend my son turned 15 and the 3 of us went out to a show STOMP and Dinner....

We are planning a last vacation before college - Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier Natl Park...

So anyhow I dont think this was what you wanted to hear...sorry probably kind of unsympathetic...but I just had to take it from my perspective..

as someone said they grow.. SOOOO fast enjoy

Robyn~I think that is wonderful! If you think you are close now, just wait til she goes off to college. You will both treasure the special moments when she comes home. They mature so much while away. Don't appologise. How VERY SPECIAL! Have a FUN vacation.

I guess I'm lucky to still have my job at the most impoverished rural school in California (that may not be an exaggeration), but I'm not really looking forward to going back. Summer could go on at least until the BB series is shipped to VHSers because not only do I work the school day, but I coach varsity girls' soccer, and end up out of the house 11 hours per day, six days per week....I don't know when I'm going to squeeze in the new workouts! How's that for self pity?

I hear ya! Teaching is truly the most rewarding career in the world (and this from a teacher who was trapped in a dead-end secretarial job for 13 years before finally becoming one), but it certainly IS time-consuming. Those summers are a godsend. I think everyone should have summer vacation--not just kids and teachers!

I am a former teaching and I remember when I had to go back to class after my summer break. I will also cry a river full of tears when my kids go off to college.

But for now, IT's Party Time Baby!!!! WooHoo, only 2 weeks to go!!!

Love hanging with the kiddos but when they get into their preteen/teenage banter back and forth, I just wish for Calgon to take me away!

I love my alone time to workout and do what I want. I miss that in the summer.

Funny I think Mom's with older kids are having the EXACT opposite reaction. My daughter is in HS.. and I am SOOO not ready for her to go.

Today we got our hair done and there were 2 other mom - daughters there!!! And both the other girls looked 17ish. FOr those of you with young kids - i must say i have found the teen years great... they really get a bad rap... but you can have adult conversations. YOu are still the Mom (VERY important) but they also become friends too... shopping friends etc...

Anyhow suffering from PRE empty nest -

enjoy

Today was my 3's first day back to school. And it's wonderful!!
My "baby" is in preschool now, so I have afternoons free.
Maybe someday, I will miss them, but for now, geting workouts in before 9:00pm is a good feeling.

I have a daughter leaving for college on Friday!:-( This is her first year and she'll be 4 hours away. I hope I survive. She is my best friend too. She is mostly worried about not working out to Cathe and missing out on the new series. ;-) My son started High school today. I work at home and also know the bliss of having the house to myself for only a short time. It is the most wonderful time of the year.
