<---got call from DH that his mom had wandered into the doctor's office and made an appointment (his office is right in her assisted living home)
<---'s DH had a meeting and couldn't take her, could I do it?
<---took her and the doctor discovered she is bleeding somewhere in her GI tract, so <--had to take her back to the hospital for STAT blood work (which I drew - it sometimes pays to work in the lab)
<---then back to the home for her dinner and for me to finish her laundry
<---also had to stop and get her tylenol for her arthritis, since she can't take Advil anymore, which is probably what is causing the GI bleed
<---says she has another appointment tomorrow
<---at least managed to fit in a few chest flys and ab moves with Barry's BC
<---cleaned bedroom for tomorrow-arriving niece
<---is now pooped and officially off duty
<---is preparing to go read in bed
<---imagines Nancy is sitting down to her dinner now
<---will see youse tomorrow

<--- got home from work, dropped the container of doggie stew on the floor, cleaned it up, held Gilbert's head while he threw up on the kitchen floor, cleaned that up, tried to eat a cracker, but dropped that on the floor so the dogs ate it, went down to her TM to run and smashed her hipbone into the handrail leaving a huge red welt...

<--is a bit askeered because one of the prescriptions <--got was for prednisone

so, one of my meds is prednisone. i was afraid to take it because i've heard it can make your heart feel like it's racing, but the doc said it will really help with the inflammation in my chest and nose. he said it would make me feel really wired, but i have not noticed that so far. i did notice one of the side effects listed was WEIGHT GAIN!!! the insert said to call your doc if you gain 5 or more pounds in a WEEK!!! WTH? so, i had to go weigh myself just now and will have to weigh myself every day until i'm done with this med (i NEVER weigh myself). i will be VERY UNHAPPY if i gain FIVE pounds in a week...i would be unhappy if i ganied anything!!! so, i am going to be paranoid since i can't work out and am taking this stuff. right now, i am winded if i walk up the stairs. i think that's because my lungs are infected and making it difficult to breathe with regular activity. i did read that if you are able, you should try light exercise to promote the flow of oxygen into your lungs so i might try some light (indoor) walking tomorrow. this whole thing is a big pain.

<---tells Lorie that <--- has been on Prednisone several times with no ill affects or weight gain
<---also adds that Montana is often on Prednisone for his skin issues
<---says he has never appeared to have any issues either and certainly hasn't gained any weight
<---says in conclusion, <--- actually carries prednisone on her in case of an allergic reaction, it's a life saver when an allergy shot goes bad or she ends up with a horrible case of poison ivy
<---is sure Lorie will be fine, but still thinks it's good that she has read up on the possible side affects and has educamated herself
