ISOPURE, part II

Tagging on the ISOPURE thread, what would be my benefit from taking a protein supplement after working out as opposed to eating a banana or an apple or a spoonfull of peanut butter? Or are you suppose to take it as meal replacement, as part of a breakfast smoothie, for example?

Also, I struggle to lose weight even though I try to do all the right things. Do protein supplements add a lot of calories to your daily intake?

I guess what I'm saying is - in your educated opinons, are there any reasons why a person should and shouldn't take a protein supplement?

Thanks for reading my post!

I have being using whey protein for years-I feel it helps in the recovery and growth of my muscles and that is it's perpose.you need to consume after a wt session within a hour a source of protein and carbs to aid in repair of the broken down muscle fibers.a bannana is just carbs so it has no protein in it- peanut butter is a good soursc of protein but shakes can be utilized fast where as foods take a while to metabolize.in my thinking just eat something in that time frame to help your muscles get what they need when they need it-I just perefer whey shakes with skim milk.
