Is there such a thing as a good eliptical that doesn't cost a fortune?

The only thing I really go to the gym for anymore is to use their eliptical. They only have two good machines. The others that they have don't compare, so almost everyone waits to use the two that are much better. I can't see continuing to pay for a gym membership if that is all I am using, and they aren't even always available. Is there such a thing as a good eliptical that does not cost over $1,000? If so, can you recommend one?

I have a nordic reac eliptical. I used to get on a transport at the gym Loved it. I wish i would have spent the 2500 and bought it.
Mine was i think 800.The arms move or can be stable.

I've been eyeing the NordicTrak space saver. I think it's somewhere around $800?
