I am on 200 mg of Lamictal for epilepsy. I would like to get on birth control but ive been reading birth control will decrease the effect of lamictal and then cause a seizure! Is there any birth control i can take? thank you

A 2008 article in American Family Physician (the official journal of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a reputable group) suggesting that birth control pills/oral contraceptives may affect the efficacy of Lamictal (lamotrigine) but Lamictal does not affect the efficacy of birth control pills (FPIN's Clinical Inquiries: Effect of Antiepileptic Drugs on Oral Contraceptives - September 1, 2008 - American Family Physician)

Product labeling for Lamictal describes the effect of oral contraceptives on Lamictal (see the first row in Table 13 in section 7 at https://www.gsksource.com/gskprm/en...44170588800&featureKey=600578#section-34073-7)
