Is the Tower required to do STS?

Is the pull up tower a required piece of equipment for the STS program?

I have pre-ordered the STS program, and intend on purchasing the Tower, but will there be a problem doing the program without the tower if the release of the two are not coordinated at the same time?

I don't have any room in my house for more equipment, but I bought a doorway pull-up bar at Target that I plan to position at the same height Cathe's pull-up tower is positioned. It may not work exactly the same, but it's a workable option for me (and I'm excited to try it!)

Hi,
I bought one of those too. The wal-mart one. Then I use my Firm FL to push off of with my legs like they show us in P90X. I find that pretty tough and the biceps definitely responded to it nicely. It gives you another option than just barbell rows.
I laughed because in one of those men's magazines there was a survey or poll about how many pull ups can the average man do...and the answer was...ONE. I thought, P90X expects me to do how many?

Whether you got yours at Wal-mart or Target, does it require drilling holes in the doorway in order to install it?

I haven't even opened mine yet :) -- but I imagine that's the most stable way to install it. When I used to use those baby gates for my children, they could push them out of the doorway pretty easily until I drilled holes and put them in shower curtain rod ends.
