Is running the best way to blast fat?

I know that it is important to lift weights for fatloss but does running help boost this also or just any type of cardio taht keeps your heart rate up?THAnk you :)

Any cardio will help increase your cardiovascular endurance and burn fat. But running is the fat burner par exccellance becuse you burn more calories per minute doing it than you do with other forms of cardio exercise, bar cross country skiiing, which is not a choice for this time of year!

What you want is a good weekly routine that has you doing cardio 3 or 4 times, of varied lengths and intensity, and weight training 2 or 3 days. It's the combination of both that will lose the fat and develop a defined, lean body.

I think in terms of losing fat quickly, YES! It also gives you a high that nothing else compares to (at least for me) I am in the run/walk stage of learning running and really enjoy the feeling it brings.

I just added running to my workouts in late May. I have lost over 10 pounds in that short time. It is a lot, but I also have about 15 more to lose (I think that the first pounds come off fairly easy compared to the last ones). I also did the no sweets challenge and stuck to it. I am now hooked on running.

I started at just 1.5 miles per day. Some of that was walking, too. By the 2nd week, I was running for about 4 miles. Then I upped it to 3 miles in the morning and 3 miles in the evening (I was on vacation and that it what the people I was with were doing, so I did, too).

I really like this website. It lets you know APPROXIMATELY how many calories you burn during specific activities.

I personally like running best for fat blasting. It gives you a high you will never get even illegally, it makes you feel incredibly strong and accomplished and I personally am always at my smallest size when I run.

Take care!

Some interesting activities there, like "clearing out an illegal dumpsite"!

Though since "painting the house" and "painting over graffiti" have the same calorie burn, why not combine them? And what about inside vs. outside painting? Interesting. Veddy interesting.

I keep my weight off by running, that is my serious aerobic workout of the day, the rest like stepping and others is just for the fun of it, I am gym junky, I late cancelled my membership at YMCA, because I felt I had to go since I was paying, but I was so tired and wasted of doing all those workout classes, but I stick with running, I hope you like it, then after a while you can start doing events in your area, like a 5k run, maybe you become a runner at heart, I hope so and I wish you become one heck of a runner.

The older I get the more I love me.
