Simply stated, some puppies do this. It doesn't mean they have worms (although good general deworming 2-3 times as a puppy is advised), it doesn't mean they have "nutritional imbalances", it doesn't mean they are sick. They are just being puppies and puppies like to chew on/eat everything. It is a behavior that he will most likely outgrow.

My puppy did this and did outgrow it. She stopped when she was about a year old. She started doing this once we had snow and they got covered in snow. I'm not sure why it started then, but yes, my dog did this too! And then she would come in and give us kisses....YUCK!
