Hi Cathe,

I was just wondering if it's alright to do high intensity cardio workouts everyday. For example, should/could I do Kick Max everyday, or should I limit those plyo/high intense moves to a couple times a week. Just wondering. I have to admit, I'm ripped but I want to get ripped like you!

Hi! I too like to do high impact cardio. I think it is ok, just as long as you don't feel too fatigued or your legs don't hurt. It migh be best to gradually ease into doing high impact Cathe everyday, though. Some of those moves (without you knowing) can actually be quite demanding on your body. I would perhaps suggest 3-4 times per week and then maybe some other high intensity cardio on machines or lower intensity Cathe to give your body at least a little break. }(
 
I wouldn't recommend it. Even if your heart and lungs can handle it, you will be setting yourself up for repetitive stress injury and possibly exercise burn out by doing high impact, high intensity and the same cardio routines day after day. Your body needs variety: different types of cardio, different intensity cardio routines. The cross training approach will hit all the muscles differently and help get you that "ripped" look faster, in addition to avoiding injury and burn out.

Bear in mind that cardio alone will not get the ripped look. You will need 2-3 days weight training in addition to 3-4 cardio routines per week to get close to the look Cathe has. Remember also, all this work can only achieve great fitness and definition within the realm of possibility of your own genetic code. You may never look like Cathe, but you can become the best you that you can, right?

I agree with Clare: doing the same type of workout, or even worse, the same workout, every day, will set you up for repetitive stress injuries and possible muscle imbalances. Doing high intensity workouts daily can set you up for overtraining and injury. There is a balance between "looking ripped" and having a healthy, injury-free body that will last you a long time to come.
