Is it me or Kickboxing is just the best

what? Cathe was about to make a kickboxing series? I would have bought that in a second... why is she not doing it?

I hope they are still targeting us the fans. I just can't help but feel that STS is to attract new customers, which is good, she wants to expand her business. I am not attracted to STS, it reminds me a tiny bit of P90X. But I am sure it's better.

I hope she still does that kickboxing serie. Don't forget about us the fans Cathe :)

Do you guys know what is the next project?

Just wondering what type it is...

Darn:(:(:(....I was patiently awaiting word of the new MMA series also!! No one does kickbox as well as Cathe!!

.....darn.....:(:(:(

man, I am disappointed!

I enjoy kickboxing! Years ago, when I began kickboxing (with Biily Blanks), I also experienced dramatic results. As with anything (at least for me), after a while your body adapts and the results become less dramatic. I have to mix my workouts up and keep my body guessing to continue to obtain results

I have to second (or third?) the recommendation for Kelly Coffey Meyer's 30 Minutes to Fitness Kickboxing. I had fun, the time moved quickly and I worked hard. I like Kelly because I work really hard and burn a lot of calories but I don't feel wrung out or overworked at the end. Her cuing style isn't my favorite, but after a few times through the workout, that was no longer an issue.

Her cuing (or lack of!) sometimes drives me nuts! ("punch" is either any punch or a cross! The 'punch series" isn't cued at all! And sorry, but I don't want to have to view the tutorial, and remember from that what the four-punch sequence--which is not a typical one-is!). But her choreo is fairly simple, and it's not too hard to 'follow the lead' (ie: do as she does, and not as she says !). If it weren't such a good workout, I wouldn't give her as much slack, LOL!

In the 30-miinute workout DVD (I usually do the premix that combines both workouts), I find that the pace of the moves is good for allowing strong punching (the "if someone were in front of me, I'd actually do some harm to them" kind that I like, and that works the muscles well). She also does a lot of rotational moves that hit the core (what she calls the 'waistline'. Shades of the 1950's-1960's! ;)).

Another good KB workout, IMO is Chalene Johnson's "Kick, Punch and Jam" (or "Punch, Kick and Jam"?). It's one of the few more 'athletic' Turbo Jams (I couldn't take the more 'dancy' ones : too much 'booty shaking' for my tastes in a KB-oriented workkout. There's only one "booty shaking" move in PKJ, and it's an 'optional' one in the warm-up. I can handle that! Especially after getting to 'know' Chalene through CLX, which I am LOVING!). Very energetic.

Her form on uppercuts is bizarre, and I don't follow it (I go along with the actual black belt guy who is unfortunately in the back row!), and there is one move that doesn't flow quite right and that she doesn't cue well* IMO: going from facing side to facing front--which can put some torque on the knee. I just keep it at a diagonal and it works out fine.

*I hate it when instructors, when a change of direction is coming that may be a bit torquey, don't give a heads-up about it, like cuing to 'be ready to face forward' or 'take a big step back to be able to change direction' or something like that--but probably less wordy!--when they DO it themselves (because they know what is coming), and to have the move be safe, it should be done.

Glad I'm not the only one that gets annoyed with KCM-- I do like the little "preview" window on the KB workout. I wish more instructors used that- it's pretty neat. I don't really listen to her cues (or sort of listen). I concentrate on the preview and can follow her, especially after the first time through the move.

I like that TJ workout too. I also do the dancier ones and just don't really shake it like she does, lol. They are good workouts-- I can jump more if I'm feeling it or not, if it's that sort of day. :)

I finished Ilaria's Powerstrike 5.
I loved it!
The music is primitive, but I liked it:) It has a very good tempo.

Ilaria is in incredible shape.:eek::eek: Her body is amazing to say the very least. Her cueing and form pointers are excellent. The combos were fun and interesting. I had a few problems with the punch combos but that's not unusual I'm still learning them. When it was all over, I went back to try them again. It's going to take a few times through for me.
At the end of the workout, I was sweaty. My Bodybugg read I had completed 50 mets ( mets are measured by energy over 3.0).
I would say this is a very good steady state/ low impact kickboxing. If you like martial art combos, you'll love this workout!
I previewed Body Strike and I know I'll love that one! I love most lower body focussed workouts. On days I have a lot of energy, I may combine the two workouts:cool:

WHAT?! When/where did they post that?

I've been anxiously awaiting news on it (but not THIS news:confused:).
That's VERY disappointing.:(
Guess I'll be going elsewhere for my cardio.

(Actually, Kelly Coffey-Meyer does really good kickboxing. Her "30 minutes to fitness" KB workout is my current favorite).

I suck at finding old posts but I think I posted a question in the STS forum a while ago.

Kickboxing is my very favorite cardio! But I'm not having the same results as you, so it could be b/c it's new for you.

Do you have Cardio Kicks? I actually prefer it to Kick Max. KM is more drills than kickboxing.

Plus CK has some nice eye candy. ;)

I agree on all counts! KM's kickboxing is too easy, and the drills are. . . well, drills. I would love for Cathe to put out a new all KB workout. And some more eye candy couldn't hurt, either.

Darn it Cynthia! Now I want some of Ilaria's workouts! I have her Abs & Pushups (or whatever it is called) but none of her others. Drat. MUST RESIST for now.
