iPod workouts!

A 60 minute workout designed for an IPOD will generally have a file size of about 1 to 1.5 gigs. A workout designed for Apple TV will normally be around 3 to 4 gigs. Keep in mind that you don't have to keep all your video workouts on your Ipod. Your video files should really be stored on your computers hard drive or burned to a CD. You sync them to your IPOD when your ready to use them and delete them when you stop reguraly working out to them. A 30 gig IPOD will work just fine for most customers, but it never hurts to buy an IPOD with a bigger hard drive. I'm sure the size of IPODS will greatly increase over the next 2 years and the prices will drop.

Robin, thank you so much for asking this question. So far, I have felt no need to get an Ipod yet! I may need to shuffle into this century behind Robin!;) I have several Cardio Coach workouts, but I downloaded them and burned them to a disc.

SNM- Thanks for taking the time for explanations!!!

Now I have another reason to pick up extra shifts for extra money!

Oh dear. I guess I'm going to have to join the Technology Shuffle. I have a friend who calls me his "favorite Luddite." Do you have any idea how long it took me to finally break down and buy a DVD player? And now it might be good for a mere 2 more years? Sigh.

Another techno-phobe here. Cathe drug me kicking and screaming from VHS to DVD and now I can't imagine going back, and I know I'll love the new technology once I get used to it, but boy do I dread the change.

Only Cathe can move me forward:p

RE: iPod Gets Our Nod

We recommend an IPOD over a Zune for Several Reasons: First, an IPOD supports a TV video out resolution of 640 x 480 while a Zune only supports a TV out video resolution of 320 x 240. Thus an IPOD will currently give you a higher quality picture than a Zune will on your TV. Zune will probably eventually offer a firmware upgrade and will up their resolution to match the current IPOD, but Zune has not announced when or if this is true.
The second reason the IPOD gets our recommendation is we have had some problems with Zune’s during our testing with biggest problem being we have had one Zune that overheated and cracked the video screen while it was charging. At first we thought this was just a fluke problem with this one particular Zune, but we have since learned that many other people have had the same problem with their ZUNE and this may be a widespread problem that could result in a Zune recall. This may also be a problem isolated to one particular factory or a particular batch. We just don’t know at this point in time. Regardless, Zune is currently not offering to honor warranties to customers who experience this problem as they feel it is caused by customers who have dropped their Zune. We know this not to be the case and we hope that Zune will solve the cracking screen problem and honor customers warranties. Until they do, we suggest you buy an IPOD.
