Intervals every day?

Hi Cathe - First let me say I love all my new tapes! I'd been so looking forward to them and they totally met my expectations for fun, tough workouts. Thanks to you and your wonderful crew for these great tapes! My question is regarding the CTX series. It seems like all the cardio portions have some interval segments in them. Although they are not very long, I know most of my other interval tapes (e.g. Interval Max) recommend putting at least 2 days in between interval workouts. Should I be concerned about doing these workouts on consecutive days? Also, would it be better to work legs out with weights the day before or after a tape with lots of plyo moves? (I'm thinking about PS-Legs and Interal Max with this question - I love my old tapes too!) Thanks so much for your input!

Hi Joanna!

Glad you are enjoying the tapes

The intervals in the Xpress series are not full fledged intervals. They are a bit shorter in duration and, without a doubt, shorter in quantity when compared to the ten in Intervalmax.

When I designed the Xpress series, I had "easy-to-modify" intensity blasts factored in so that you had the option to have either a hard workout or be able to modify it to lesser intensity if you wanted. I did that to make the tapes more versatile for our users.

So my honest opinion when doing the Xpress series, is to use your best judgement when doing your tapes. For example: If when doing a workout you give it 100% and the next day you feel wiped out, then on the next day either 1) pick a less intense workout 2) make it a rest day or 3) pick any tape that you want to do but modify it to make it a bit less intense or less high impact. SIDE NOTE: Based on experience I can give you one piece of advice that can save you some "experimenting". The Leaner Legs tape and Power Circuit tape compliment one another best when they have a day or two between them since Power Circuit has a good amount of squats and lunges in it.

When it comes to PS Legs and Interval Max, I would say to put a day or two between these because Interval Max is designed for you to be giving it your all (in order to shock your metabolism). The intensity of this tape combined with the long duration and heavy weight focus for PS Legs, would be asking a lot from your legs. This is not to say that it cannot be done but IDEALLY it would be best to separate those two workouts. Hope this helps!

Thanks
