Interval/Circuit Class Ideas??

Hi everyone - I teach interval/circuit and bootcamp type classes. I'd like to shake it up a bit and do something a little different. Any ideas?

I usually do 3 minutes cardio either hi/lo or step and then 1 minute upper body and 1 minute lower body with ab work at the end. Sometimes I incorporate abs in the middle, too. Sometimes I combo the upper and lower exercises.

I just can't seem to think of anything a little different to do? Any ideas would be a great help - thanks in advance.

Marcia.

For the cardio intervals periods, why not have them dance? I just started incorporating plyo into my dance workouts and you burn a ton of calories and it's so much fun!

Here are some ideas:

Jump rope
Suicide runs
Jump squats
Box jumps or step ups with weight
Sled drags
Tire drags
Flipping tires
Flip the tire, jump in and out of the tire
Hitting the tire with sledgehammers
Overhead walking lunges (w/a PVC pipe)
Ball Slams
Mountain climbers

If you have kettlebells you can do swings or walking swings.

What Jane said.

Do you have access to weights? Your students can do all sorts of carries...farmers walk, overhead carry (lift a heavy weight over your head and walk around with it). You won't need much ab work after that. ;)

Don't forget the burpees!
