I do remember reading somewhere else about building muscle during the negative phase of the movement. I'm currently doing S&H where Cathe works the positive. I do Cathe's 6-2 count for the first set, then 2-6 and 4-4 for the last two sets to balance both positive and negative phases. Strangely, it's the 4-4 count that kills me, and that's not exactly slow.
And the protein issue... that's a relief because I've always limited my intake to only 80% of my body weight.
That was a good article. I just finished the Energy Systems portion of my Exercise Physiology class and I learned so much. I've noticed that many people on this board are doing the low carb, high protein thing and if only they knew the physiology behind it they'd be back to carbs in an instant.
