Interesting article in today's Times

Citing a study that questions whether all calories are truly alike and suggesting the possibility that carb calories cause obesity more than other calories.

The author just wants to sell his book.

It's simply too many calories and processed foods! Complex carbohydrates (whole grains, fruits, vegetables) do not have a "real limit" on consumption, so you do not get any adverse health effects if a lot of them. If one consumes too much protein, however, it contributes to heart and kidney disease, bone loss and cancer. Considering that so many Americans over-consume on protein and the prevailance of these diseases in our country, the evidence is clear.....
