Insanity VS STS 3 Pylo legs

I have noticed on the forums that people have stated that pylo legs in STS Meso 3 is really tough and they have to pause or quit. But then some say they luv insanity and can make it through easily. For myself I luv Meso 3 pylo legs I agree it is tough but I have never had a problem completing without pause and I use heavy weights as well. But OMG when it comes to insanity I feel like a wimp. I have done it a few times but I don't think I could ever do it every day. It really kicks my butt. I have to really psych myself up to do the workouts. Just wondering why I'm struggling with insanity? Thanks Ladies, Lori

My read on that is the fact that STS Plyo Legs workouts were not really designed to produce anywhere near the same kind of cardiovascular overload that the Insanity workouts were. Although there is an elevated HR in Plyo Legs, that is a byproduct rather than an end goal, whereas Insanity's workouts are specifically oriented to increasing / improving pure cardio performance.

Plus, the drills in Plyo Legs are only 30 seconds each, with a LOTTTTTTTTT of breathing time between each drill, whereas the drills or drill blocks in Insanity don't have much breathing / down time at all. I think that's Shaun's method of max interval training which tosses the original interval format (one minute moderate, one minute nosebleed, one minute recovery) on its head and you get three minutes nosebleed and 30 seconds recovery.

Me, I like it like that!

I agree ~ I've only seen clips of Insanity, but it looks like these two are completely different workouts. I wouldn't consider yourself wimpy at all.

I also agree that Insanity is much more leg intensive than meso 3- plyo leg. I also did not have a problem completing Pylo legs without stopping. The weighted work in Pylo legs does give you a bit of a cardio-vascular rest. The segments in Insanity have very, very, very short recovery periods (30 seconds). I have not completed any of the month two Insanity workouts without at times taking short additional rests. I am absolutely loving Insanity. As A-jock said- they are pure "nosebleed" workout-- but I am loving the challenge and Shaun is so encouraging.

ya know....I was having a really hard time with plyo legs but conversly I really enjoy insanity and feel great when I'm done. The whole day of plyo I'm wrecked, and good for nothing.

No ideas why.

I don't want to get too excited (don't know if its a freak loss that will come right back) but, I think I have lost 2 lbs of fat this week by adding insanity to my STS workouts

I know that pylo is not the same kind of workout as Insanity, I was just curious for those who struggled with pylo legs can do insanity. To me pylo is easy compared to insanity.
