insanity deluxe set

Ok, so I got insanity deluxe set...not sure on how to use it? Can I still fit my running in and do weight training twice a week?

I did not order the deluxe dvds at first so when I did my first Insanity rotation I did not have to concern myself with them. I did want to run and lift though so what I did was add an extra day on to the rotation every week in order to fit it in and it worked out fine. One day of lifting coupled with Shaun's body weight exercises was enough for my body. I tried lifting in the AM and doing Insanity in the PM in order to be able to lift more often but it was too much for me. You can give it a try though!

As for the deluxe dvds, I have them now and all I am doing is subbing in MIST for the repeated work out each week in the rotation. As for the weight work out, perhaps that's where adding the extra day or doing 2 work outs a day would come in handy. Don't feel like you have to do everything all at once though. You don't need it all to get results from this program!!!!

Good luck! :)

Caveat: I do not have the Insanity series (just one workout that came with Tony Horton's One-on-one series), but I have followed discussion on it with increasing interest, and I do have other workout series with "add-ons" that are similar in structure.

As Wendy said: don't think you have to do them all at once, or all within a one or two-week period. By spreading them out, you'll make the ' newness' factor last longer, avoiding boredom, and also not overdo.

I'd follow the basic rotation, keeping the add-ons aside (but preview them all, just to make sure there are no glitches) until I felt like doing something different (subbing an add-on workout for a similar workout in the basic rotation).

Hi-

I have the Insanity series and I like to run and lift as well.. For me, I found that it worked best to do just 1 of the Insanity workouts/week as my cardio so that I could run on my other cardio days.

Insanity is really high impact and I found that when coupled w/ running I starting to feel it in my feet and knees if I did it more than 1x/week.

That being said, it is a very effective workout for burning calories and strengthening the core area. Just be really careful.. I think that bec. its so high intensity its easy to get sloppy on your form and get yourself injured. Definitely one of those series that you have to listen to your body..even the exercisers in the dvd take frequent breaks.
