Good Morning Y'all,

Well not exactly. :p Yawn! Yesterday was FitTest#4. Wahoo.. That went really really well. I was ready for MIC right after, but I didn't have time. Today was MIC. I started off good, but hit the wall .. no crashed into the wall is more like it. I did some self talk, even tried visualization and went back at it only to crash into the wall again. I repeated this over and over. I finally realized there was no way I was going to crash THROUGH the wall and my efforts were futile. My self talk and visualizations were only giving me a few seconds of burst and I skipped the 3rd round of Cycle 3. It was the first time I haven't completed a workout. :( OH well there is always tomorrow. Of course I am focusing on my Fit Test on Sunday, because I'm really really happy with that. All my numbers were up from last time.

FT1 /FT4
Switch Kicks 58/73
Power Jacks 55/72 (up nine from last time)
Power Knees 120/126
Power Jumps 63/73
Globe Jumps 8/13
Suicide Jumps 16/20 (up three from last time)
Push-up Jacks 20/30
loplank Obl 70/82

Brenda, Awesome improvement with the numbers and the loose skinny jeans!!! That has to feel unbelievable. I really like the push-up jacks too!

Becky, Thanks for the MudRun report. How inspiring, but like Sandra, I kept wondering about your ankle and how you would feel about today. I hope it heals quickly. The local news report here in WI actually did a short blip on the Mud Run. They did real short sound bites with some of the people. Things like, "This was a blast!" "She made me do it!" and so on. I was disappointed that they made it look like a "funsie" thing and didn't show any of the toughest obstacles. :(

Jennifer, Can you hear the pomp and circumstance music I'm playing for you? Yeah, another graduate!! Take a bow and then smile for the camera. :D

Roselyn, Welcome. I was following the meal plan in the beginning. You might want to try it in the beginning and see if it fits for you. If not you'll need to customize your meal planning to fit yourself. The recovery drink is not needed. Some people just drink Chocolate Milk instead. The recovery drink would not count as one of your meals.

EVERYONE,
Now that we have a few graduates who might not make it here as often, I wanted to make sure I give a really big thanks to EVERYONE here for the motivation, tips, support and everything. I'm not good at conveying emotions so please know you have all been a great support system and words (at least not my words) can not convey how much it has meant to me.

Hi Everyone!

Today was FT & MIC. I did not do well on the FIT Test (some improvement from last time but some things stayed the same) but I rocked MIC. My muscles have been tight and I think I need a longer warmup for the Fit Test.

Dawn, way to rock on the fit test. Sorry you couldn't break through the wall today.
Brenda & Jennifer, congratulations! Thanks for all of your tips and previews of the workouts.
Roselyn, I did not follow the meal plan because it is too hard for me to get all the meals in at work. I try to just keep my meals clean and have carbs, protein and fat at every meal.
Becky, sorry about your ankle!

I am so proud of you graduates!!! I hope you still pop in or we continue a thread cuz I'm with Dawn...you've come to mean a lot to me!!!! :D

Dawn, awesome fit test results!!! Especially if you weren't *feeling* it.

And thanks for all the ^^5's re: mud run! Y'all have to do one someday!

So...went to the doctor to prove to DH that my ankle isn't broken and I'm okay to run my 10k Saturday. Bad decision :(
It isn't broken but I have at least a grade 2 maybe 3 sprain, with strain and bruising.
I get to wear a really neat air splint...for at least the next 6 months while running! I'm in it all the time for a couple weeks.
Not what I wanted to hear.

I can cycle or elliptical as soon as I can do it pain free. I will be attempting to cycle tonight. Running can resume when I can stand on the bad foot tiptoe for 20 seconds and jump on it 10 times...apparently that's also supposed to be a pain free test. And, no, I'm not allowed to take pain killers first. (hey, I tried!!!!)
The doctor's facial expression was priceless when I asked about the 10k...
me ~ *so, what about my 10k Saturday?*
docotr ~ *I don't think it's a good idea. Next Saturday is too soon.*
me~ *oh, so THIS Saturday is out of the question*
Oh, man, I wish I'd had a camera!!!!! I think the answer was *NO!!!!!*

I am NEVER going to finish INSANITY!!!!:( So annoying!!!!!
I guess I can really work on my upper body for a while. Sigh....

But, I still have to say, with a huge smile on my face......
THE MUD RUN WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Alrighty then....I guess I should go ice this thing. I'm still going to pop in and see how y'all are doing!!!

Thanks ladies for all the encouragement and inspiration! You rock!!!!

Becky

Becky, Take care of that ankle. I had a really bad sprain about 8 years ago. No one told me the grade of the sprain, but I was on crutches for months. I also tried to do too much too soon, and I didn't do myself any favors.
It didn't help I had people saying "You're still hobbling around. I thought you only sprained it?" A really bad sprain can be worse then a break.

So take it easy and really listen to your body.

Colleen, A longer warm-up and stretch before the fit test is a great idea.

Becky- so sorry to hear about your ankle. As hard as it is, you really need to rest the joint for it to heal properly. We all understand how frustrating this is for you, but what a story about how it happened!! The only time I had a bad sprain like that it was because I rolled it on uneven pavement and did a really hilarious "all limbs splaying all over " fall and my DH was just looking at me in disbelief!!!

Seriously, if you have access to an acupuncturist, it can do wonders for both the acute and long term healing. I had a couple of treatments after my graceful fall and it made all the difference in the healing process.

Good evening everyone,

I did MIC today, and had energy to burn! I'm not sure where that came from, unless it was from adding another mini-meal to my day. After last Friday's energy bonk, I got smart and decided to eat more; just a bit. A bowl of cereal before bed, and more vegetables with supper.

Becky - I'm so sorry your ankle is seriously sprained :(. But no the plus side, this might be just what you need to make you really focus on your nutrition. Maybe it'll be the best thing for you!!

See you tomorrow Gang!
Sandra
