Info needed for fitness test

I hope I am wording that correctly. I would like information, website, book, something, that gives an average fitness goal for kids at different ages. I have three kids and they are healthy and fit, but something that suggests what the average 14 year old boy should be able to accomplish in sit ups, push ups, etc. I homeschool, and while we are active and stress health and fitness, I would also like some guidance to let me know where my kids are "academically" in physical education.

This is my first stop! The "educated crowd":D

Thanks Bobbi, that is awesome! Just a glance at the list, and I think my kids are actually at the challenge side of the chart which is very encouraging! I don't know what their timed mile run is though, so I will have to check that out as soon as some more snow melts.....which it is doing quickly thank the Lord! I think it is a false Spring, and more snow will come, but in the mean time I have the fever:)

My pleasure, Dani! It's wonderful your kids are on the challenge side! We saw 70 and 80 go by very quickly. That passes for Spring. It hit 90 today and it won't be too long before we head for the hundreds!

There are some balance and coordination standards that we test for in PE at the school where I work, plus kids are expected to know the rules of some basic common sports. I could dig around and try to find some specific material if you're interested. Let me know. Many well-funded high schools (not mine here in Arniefornia) are turning their PE programs into health club style programs which I think is great because it de-emphasizes competition and promotes personal goal-setting and overall health. Sounds like you're already doing a great job of that.
