Cathe Live Roku viewers, we have recently had to update the Cathe Live and Cathe OnDemand apps to meet Roku’s new requirements. Roku gave us very little warning about this, so we've had to scramble to make the required changes as best we can with so little notice. We plan on releasing several updates to the new Roku apps we have just published over the next weeks which will make them look and perform much better. Normally, we would have liked to have made and thoroughly tested all the changes before releasing any new app, but we've had to do the best we could so that service would not be interrupted on Roku. Our current Roku apps will expire on 2-23-22, so you must update to our new apps to continue using Cathe Live and Cathe OnDemand

You will have to uninstall your old app and install the newest version. Unfortunately, there is no way to update the old version. Please follow these steps to get the new version installed on your Roku device:

Delete the old app on your Roku device:
  • Select the old Cathe Live app with your remote, but don’t launch it. It should only have the selection rectangle around it
  • Press the * key on your remote, then scroll down and select “Remove channel”
  • Confirm the removal, then continue below
If you prefer to install the channel on your Roku device: (This is the easiest and recommended method)
  • From Roku’s main screen on your TV, scroll down and select “Streaming Channels”
  • Scroll down and select “Search Channels” in the menu to the right
  • Type in “Cathe Live” with your remote, and you should see the channel appear on the right side of the screen
  • Select the channel by hitting the right arrow, then select “Add channel”
  • That’s it. The new app should be on your home screen. You will need to log in again using your Cathe Live account credentials

If you prefer to install the channel from your computer’s web browser:

  • Click on or type in this URL: https://my.roku.com/account/add/QHHRJ6D
  • Verify that you are not, in fact, a robot
  • Click on “Add channel”
  • The channel will appear on your Roku within a day, or to speed that up, continue below
  • On your Roku, from the main screen scroll down and select “Settings”
  • Scroll down and select “System” in the menu to the right
  • Scroll down and select “System update” in the menu to the right
  • Click on “Check now” and it will find and install the new Cathe Live app
  • That’s it. The new app should be on your home screen. You will need to log in again using your Cathe Live account credentials

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I had no problem with the uninstall and reinstall. I have two questions. Question 1: is the "new" version 1.4 build 13? Just want to make sure that I have the right version. Question 2 (file under "pretty dumb question :)) this only applies to the Roku app, not to the iOS app, correct? THANKS!

Hi cataddict, Yes, this update only applies to our Roku App, not our iOS App. Also, as long as you download our app from the Roku App store you don't have to worry about downloading the wrong app as only one version is in the store. Since this is a new "Public" app we're are calling this version v 1.0.
