IMAX 3 if I've never done any of the other IMAX's?

I really want to buy DVD's, and I don't want to spend the $45 on the IMAX2 and Cardio and Weights. Would I survive IMAX3 without the experience of IMAX2? Any thoughts?

Personally, I love Imax2 the best. It's fun and time flies by when I do it. Imax3 is too high-impact for me. My knees get really beat up by it. Its choreography is also quite tricky, with so many pivots and turns. It took me longer to get into the choreography of Imax3 than that of Imax2. Another thing I like about the Imax2 dvd is that it comes with C&W, which is another wonderful workout. The premixes aren't bad as well. I don't do Imax3 anymore, but I still keep the workout for the step only premix.

I agree with Pinky.

Imax 2 is fun, and I only modify about 1/4 of the moves (and not too much at that: just not jumping as high, for example).

IMAX 3 is way over the top in terms of impact for me. I modify almost all the blasts, sometimes changing them so completely, they don't ressemble the original move. The choreography is more complexe, and I think it's also not as well cued as some earlier workouts (including IMAX2) , which makes the choreography seem all the more difficult.

I do both IMAX 2 and IMAX3, but end up doing 2 more often than 3, and enjoying it more. 3 is kind of a "I guess I should do this one for variety" workout.

I have to agree that IMAX 2 is way more fun for me. I still can't quite get to the point where I enjoy IMAX 3. I look forward to doing IMAX 2 every chance I get. I could probably do it every day!

I had Imax 3 before Imax 2 - Actually the hardcores were some of the first DVDs I've ever purchased of Cathe's. I'd have to say it wasn't that bad doing Imax 3 first for me - it's tough, and I do better if I break it in half doing intervals 1-5 and then 6-10 a different day, but I think it makes me enjoy the DVD a lot more then if I had Imax 2 first. Since then I've purchased Imax 2 and LOVE it, especially since I find it easier then Imax 3. But I still love Imax 3 as well.

OooOOo, wait, let me add though, once I got Imax 2 I absolutely fell in love with Cardio and Weights!! I am a big big fan of circuit training, and C&W was a great addition to my collection of these. If $$ is your main issue, just think you're getting two great workouts for that price.

(is this contradicting my previous email, where I think I was leaning toward getting Imax 3 first?? I'm no help...)

I love Imax 3, especially for how brutal a workout it is. Lots of plyometrics that will really get your heartrate through the roof. If you can handle the jumping, it is amazing. The choreography is a bit trickier, but not impossible to learn. It only took me a few times to get it. If impact is not so much your thing, you many not want to invest in this. Imax 2 is definitely less impact, but I think there is still a lot of jumping in that one as well.

So many people like Imax 2 better than Imax 3. I love them both and I think they are both fun! Imax 3 is trickier but when I started with Cathe I bought the workouts that I wanted and had fun learning them. Some people like to try the easier/less tricky workouts first but I bought what I really wanted at the time and just went for it. I think a great way to learn an Imax workout, if most of the moves are new to you, is to watch one interval at a time and give it a practice go, adding one interval at a time until you get it. You could do this before or after your regularly planned cardio workout. Also, my DVD player has a button that slows it down in ultra slow motion so I can learn a really tricky move. I had to use this a couple of times when I first started working out with Cathe. Anyway good luck and have fun. I think you will be happy with either Imax workout!

Hmm, not sure I'm any less confused. LOL!! I think I'm just going to break down and start with IMAX 2 and Cardio and Weights. I love Circuit Max, so I'll just be getting another great workout like it. The real problem isn't the $$ per sae - it's the thought of spending $45 on one DVD. I know, believe I know, that Cathe is worth it and that she offers more options and more variations on her DVD's than anyone on the planet, it's just nudging myself over that little hump...

As for IMAX 3 and not liking it as much - I don't know. I love having that feeling over having worked to capacity and not being able to take one step more and taking that step anyway (probably why I hike the big mountains). I doubt I'm ready for it just right now, but I'm looking forward to trying it once I do get ready for it!

Hai,

I am maybe to late for this respons.
I like all the Imax dvd,s ,also the intervalmax(Imax)
The choreography of Imax(1) is easier than Imax 2.
So you can jump and step without stopping the dvd.
But it is very advance,if you jump less than you
can finish the dvd.I like this dvd very much because it is very advance.

As of now, I only have Imax 3. I love it, love it, love it!! It's the only step w/o that can get my heart rate way up there, comparable to my running in treadmill. However, as other said that it is very pounding in your joint. For now, I only use step only premix in the day I don't do PLB/PUB.

I am definitely goint to get Imax 2 for all good feedback about this one. But I have to wait for a couple months:-( since my DH thought I got too much hooked up with Cathe (have 18 of her collections since I was introduced to her w/o this March)

I love Imax 2 but now I find I love the "workout" of Imax 3 more. I alternate all the Imax's, but I currently love Imax 3 the most!

Hey I have done Imax 2 and I max 3. I must say that I2 has a lot more recovery time than I3. Not to mention I3 is a lot more impact.Doesn't bother me to much but definitly needs to be done in less rotation cycle.
