I'm still in need of some suggestions....

I posted last week about being a Firmie and needing something to take me to the next level of fitness. I really think Cathe is what I need to achieve this.

Here is a brief description of what I have been doing the last year and a half.

In January I started doing The firm on a regular basis. I did the Cardio Sculpt 3-4 days a week and the Body Sculpt 2 days a week but alternating the segments and doing arms/abs one day and lower body/abs the next time. I also walked 2 miles a day in addition to this.

I'm at a stalemate right now. My upper body looks terrific. Very cut and defined. Lower body is "ok" this is where my problem spot is. My rear and outer/inner thighs could still use much more work, however I am starting to see some definition in my quads. My abs still need work, espically my "love handles"

There are so many workouts to choose from I just don't know what to do.

I want something that will give me cardio, but also add weight training into the mix. I love circuit style workouts as they boost my metabolism much more than traditional weight training/cardio. I also need good ab workout and something that will continue to lift and shrink my rear and thighs.

I was looking at the bootcamp/endurance series, also Imax3 and the ab hits dvd.

Can anyone point me in the direction of circuit style workouts (kinda like the firm) and some good suggestions to shrink my butt and thighs and work my abs!

Thank you for your help/suggestions.

ANy help you can give me with rotations for the week would be great, too.

Thanks,
Stacy

From the new series, Butts & Guts would really work on your lower body and abs (no cardio in there). There are lots of good premixes in there as well.

Drill Max and Low Impact Circuit are both good circuit workouts (DM has no ab work in it).

Drill Max is my favourite of the most recent series as it's quite different to anything else.

Hi Stacy!

I know you like circuit-style workouts but Butts & Guts is a great lower body workout and has 2 great ab routines (one with weights and one with the stability ball). This one hits the legs and butt from all angles. Legs & Glutes is also a really great leg workout that also has Kick, Punch & Crunch on it which has a great stability ball ab routine. Legs & Glutes moves very quickly so it almost feels like a cardio workout. Some good circuit style workouts are Drill Max, Low Impact Circuit, Step, Jump & Pump and High Step Training Advanced (this one also has 6 sets of legg presses to lift your rear). This one does not have an ab routine but you are working your abs throughout the workout. Another good circuit workout is High Step Challenge which also has an ab routine. IMAX 3 is my favorite IMAX and is lots of fun. The choreography on this IMAX is a little more complex than 1 and 2. Bootcamp is a great circuit workout. You do eight cycles of cardio, upper body, lower body and core. Each exercise is one minute. This one has very basic choreography that's not hard to follow. This has great core work. Muscle Endurance is a high rep/low weight endurance workout and has another great ab routine. I would look at the video clips to see what interests you.

Supersets is a weight circuit workout. It comes with Push/pull on one DVD.

Some good cardio/weights circuits:
Circuit Max (comes on DVD with Cardio Kicks, a kickbox-flavored hi-lo workout)

BodyMax (the original) or BodyMax 2. I think the original is slightly tougher, though the look is a bit dated. It comes on the Power Hour/MIS DVD. PowerHour is a full-body endurance weight workout, very similar to BodyPump. MIS is a full-body, gym-style weight workout.

Cardio and Weights (comes on DVD with IMAX2).

Low Impact Circuit is a very versatile low-impact circuit workout from the latest series.

Bootcamp is a challenging circuit-type workout as well.

I agree with Marcy, look at the clips and see what interests you. And on workouts that come grouped with others on DVD, make sure that the companion workouts are also something you would be interested in (otherwise, you end up paying a lot for just one workout you'll use).
