I'm Less Lazy--Thanks to You Guys!

I really appreciated the posts by the GWF and Body Bug users. It helped me realize the importance of moving throughout the day. I always tried to be "efficient"--like putting things at the bottom/top of stairs to take the next time I went down/up, or waiting to do/get things until after I was done at the computer. Now I jump up when I need to get something, or take an item up or downstairs right away--even when it means 20 trips in a day!;) I don't resent making dinner or standing up to fold laundry *as much* because I think "I'm burning more calories this way." (I still hate laundry, BTW).

Maybe it really isn't making a difference, but I AM less lazy and resentful. It makes chores and errands better when I think I'm doing my body good.:D So as long as my bubble doesn't burst, I'm happier.:p

Elsie, I loved your post, and could practically have written it! Who would have thought that a little gadget like that would have an effect on household chores???

Even my husband has noticed that since getting my GWF last spring, I usually insist on taking the most physically demanding tasks around our place if it's at all possible to do them even for a little while, or at least the ones that require the most moving around. DH made a micro-complaint the other day that I was always shovelling snow now before he got up, so he'd have to get up earlier to get his share done :) And at work, I'm far more likely to ask to have the meeting in the other person's office instead of suggesting my own, and that's even when mine is clean  It both feels good to be able to do more from my Cathe-etc workouts AND get more benefit from what I'm doing. Kind of like a bonus on top of a raise.

It's trite but true: a little change in perspective goes a long way. The GWF has been a real win :D

My GWF has been an eye-opener for me too! On days that I'm glued to my computer, I burn 200 - 400 fewer calories than on days where I'm doing more cooking, tidying up, loads of laundry, running errands, etc.

It's not hard to see where the pounds can come from with that kind of information! :( I love my GWF. :):)
