BOY! Sorry to keep you all waiting so long. When we got home from all the other errands we had to do that day, I was so beat. I think I'd gone way too long without water. And to top it all off, I had a meeting that night with my business partner to strategize about work stuff. We need to start cold-calling. Ugh. It's so depressing...we were hit with a huge tax bill this year since our business grew so much (we weren't aware that it had doubled in size. I thought it had grown by a third as is usual, but we had no major purchases which really ended up hurting us. So now, I have burned through our business savings, our personal savings, (not our retirement or anything, just money I like to have in our account) my money for the yard (we've only been in our home for a year and half and our yard still needs a lot of work!) but we also purchased a bunch of new equipment to help out with some of our more difficult/time consuming portions of the jobs, and then lost our biggest client with our 2nd biggest client deciding to take 2 months off at the same time! Whenever we decide to make new purchases like this, something like this always happens. Plus, I need to start making $600 pymts per month to the IRS for my estimated tax due next year. Its really depressing. I know from past experience we just need to keep moving, and realize that things are just going to get bigger and better than they were before, but it's just hard to deal with right now when my head is not in the business because of the pregnancy and the hormones, and all of the emotions of still really not wanting a third child, and feeling terribly guilty that I feel this way, and so the cycle goes on and on and on. I have had a very emotional day today. But you guys have all been so wonderful...thanks for all of your support.
I am sorry I went off on that tangent, I didn't mean to, I think it was just heavy on my chest and talking about it helped me feel better. Now onto the fun part...the baby was very acrobatic during the ultrasound. I almost saw him do an summersalt. I feel bad that I wasn't all grinning from ear to ear with excitement like I did with my first two. I definitely had a few heart tugging moments. Poor guy...I really think it will take me until he's born to really be okay with this and to love him like I love my other two, but I do know that I will get there! Anyway, he looked really sweet. He was a little small for 20 weeks. The ultrasound was dating me at 19. I know my cycles can be longer, but I wouldn't guess that it would be a whole week off--especially since they have been 30 days exactly since April thru Dec. They said it was possible that he hadn't had a growth spurt yet and that that would put him where he should be, but before we move my date out a whole week, we're going to get a second ultrasound (oh darn!) 4 weeks from now. I'll keep you posted. My weight gain has been good. By the dr's scale, 12 lbs so far. By my own scale at home, I'd say 10 at the most. But the bad news is that my dr's scale is so heavy! It varies from mine by 15 lbs!! And I weigh myself fully dressed before leaving for my appt so I can compare evenly. I told the nurse that her scale is so much heavier than mine and she said that everybody says that and to just go off of my own scale for my weight gain. Bottom line, I don't care if there scale says I'm 140 and mine says I'm 125 as long as the next time I go for my appt, it reads 144 (4 weeks later) and not 150 or something outrageous. So far, it's been 2 lbs first trimester, 1 lb a week thereafter which I'm just fine with.
Jacquie - your ultrasound sounds so awesome! I'm very excited for you to find out what you're having! Can't wait to hear all about it!
Take care guys!
