I'm on my way to the grocery store and I wanted to know what are the must haves for eating clean??? I read the peanut butter post on the Ask Cathe forum -- but since I'm going -- please give me your must haves for snacks, quick meals -- whatever -- just one thing if you can think of that you must have before you leave the grocery store.
 
How about Cottage Cheese.

Celery (for your Peanut Butter)

Fruits & Veggies

Plain Yogurt for your fruit

Whole WHeat Bread

Good Luck

oatmeal

low carb/high fiber whole wheat wraps-i never buy bread

Better'n Peanut butter or Peanut Wonder (same thing as you probably read on my post on the ask cathe)

High fiber soup

Not sure if it's clean or not but I like to keep 100 calorie size bags of popcorn-low fat quick snack

for snack - I like No pudge brownie mix (www.nopudge.com) has lots of receipes, you make the brownies with vanilla yogurt. I never make the whole batch though, i use the single serve receipe from the website and microwave one at a time, that way you don't overeat!!!

eggs (cage free with omega-3)
flax seeds
Dragoba dark chocolate bar
soy protein powder

Peppers
Carrots

Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness.

I don't think this is necessarily "clean", but here's what I usually buy:
high fiber cereal (at least 8 grams of fiber per serving)
fruit: berries, apples, oranges, kiwi,
vegetables: frozen spinach, broccoli and peas
fresh baby carrots, tomatoes,peppers,cuke, sweet potatoes, and zucchini
whole wheat, high fiber bread or wraps
deli turkey
low fat cheese
boneless, skinless chicken
ground turkey
whole wheat pasta
canned beans (black, kidney and white)
canned tomatoes (for recipes)

the quickest meal i make and healthy except for the 5 grams sugar is Manwich and it has no saturated fat or transfer fat. i make it with ground turkey,brocoli,and sweet potato.for snack,now that the blueberies and cherries are out i put them in a bowl for snack.i also buy nannas,apples,cantalope,pluots,red grapes,zuccini,yellow squash,acorn squash,red and orange bell pepper,bagged baby spinach,kale,canned beans,fresh salmon-not farm raised,Kashi GOLEAN instant cereal,deli meat,havarti cheese.
