This has been the most boring week of my whole life. While everyone was getting a lot of snow last weekend, in Lexington, KY we have been dealing with 1 1/2 inches of ice. It first started with 3 inches of rain which began Friday night and carried over into Saturday. Then the rain turned into ice that Saturday night/Sunday morning. It completely crippled us and left 65,000 without power. As of today there are still 25,000 people without power. Luckily I was one of the fortunate ones who had power the whole time, but both my work and my husband's still does not have power. It has been predicted that we may not get power restored until this coming Wednesday, Feb. 26. The electric company has just recently brought in other states to help with the cutting of the trees and wire repairs so hopefully that will change. It is hard to believe that ice, while beautiful to look at on the trees, can cause such devastation. I would have much preferred snow. In any case the ice has finally melted, but this weekend they are calling for 2-4 inches of rain, most of the state is already flooded, and more waves of snow storms to come in probably Sunday and not ending until Thursday. Hopefully they are just giving us a worst case scenario. Besides how often are meteorologists right anyway? Well, I have a lot of catching up to do on the forum. I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
